WWE Star Ava Raine Sparks Outrage Over Charlie Kirk Post
SHOCKING TWIST: WWE's Ava Raine Sparks Outrage After Criticizing Conservative Commentator Charlie Kirk Following Assassination
In a jaw-dropping move, The Rock's daughter Ava Raine has become the center of controversy after her scathing comments about Charlie Kirk, the Conservative commentator who was tragically assassinated while speaking at an event in Utah Valley University on Wednesday. Raine, a 24-year-old WWE wrestler and social media influencer, took to Instagram to express her thoughts on the matter, and boy, did she stir up a hornet's nest!
Without directly naming Kirk, Raine re-posted a thought-provoking message from comedian Gianmarco Soresi on her Instagram story: "If you want people to have kind words when you pass, you should say kind things when you're alive." She later doubled down on the post by adding, "And I'll stand behind this. Be kind, now more than ever."
But, as they say, karma's a cruel mistress. Raine's attempt at spreading kindness was met with widespread outrage and criticism from WWE fans and pundits alike. "Hey @TripleH and @WWE do you want this representing the younger part of the company?" one fan asked, while another said, "You need to be fired." A third fan expressed their disappointment and disgust, adding, "This is a slap in the face to all the WWE superstars who have stood up for free speech and conservative values."
Some fans even took it upon themselves to share a famous GIF of The Rock yelling, "Shut up b*h" during his wrestling days – a not-so-subtle hint that Raine might be in trouble with her dad. Ouch!
But Raine's not the only one who has sparked controversy following Kirk's assassination. Former communications coordinator for the Carolina Panthers, Charlie Rock (no relation to The Rock), was fired after making some... let's say, "colorful" remarks about Kirk's death on social media.
And if you think that's all, folks, think again! Gerald Bourguet, a Phoenix Suns beat writer for ALLCITY Network, was also shown the door after calling Kirk an "evil man." In his now-deleted tweet, Bourget wrote, "'Political differences' are not the same thing as spewing hateful rhetoric on a daily basis... and refusing to mourn a life devoted to that cause is not the same thing as celebrating gun violence."
But amidst all this controversy, it's worth noting that some franchises have chosen to pay tribute to Kirk. The Yankees and Packers honored him with a moment of silence earlier in the week, followed by several more NFL teams on Sunday.
The Jets, Dolphins, Titans, Saints, Steelers, Cowboys, and Cardinals all halted their games to remember the life of 31-year-old Kirk. However, it seems that not everyone shares the same sentiment – some teams, including the Lions, Bengals, Ravens, Colts, and Vikings, decided against paying tribute to Kirk.
The question on everyone's mind now is: will The Rock be proud of his daughter's stance, or will he take her to task for speaking out against a fellow conservative commentator? One thing's for sure – this drama is far from over!
