Winking Macron and Royal Glitz: A Star-Studded Windsor Castle Banquet

WINDSOR CASTLE HOSTS STAR-STUDDED STATE BANQUET AS MACRON AND ROYALTY MIX AND MINGLE

TheScholarlyNote.com has learned that last night's star-studded state banquet at Windsor Castle was an evening to remember, with French President Emmanuel Macron and the British Royal Family mingling and making merry in a glittering display of diplomacy and glamour.

Macron, resplendent in a dapper suit and sporting a cheeky grin, bonded with Princess of Wales Kate Middleton over glasses of champagne, as they sat side by side at the head table. The Princess, looking stunning in a dark red silk gown designed by Sarah Burton for Givenchy, was beaming from ear to ear as she chatted with Macron about... well, we're not entirely sure what they were discussing, but it looked like a jolly good time was had by all.

In a charming speech, peppered with French, King Charles referenced how Windsor Castle had been built by ¿my ancestor - and your sometime countryman - William, Duke of Normandy¿, with a tactful reference to the fact that he had just taken over the country by conquest

The evening's festivities kicked off with a carriage procession through Windsor town, featuring King Charles and Queen Camilla, along with Prince William and Kate Middleton, as well as Macron and his wife, Brigitte. The Macrons exchanged warm kisses and affectionate pats on the arm as they greeted the Royal Family, while Kate curtseyed twice to King Charles (just in case he didn't see it the first time) and performed a similar ritual for Queen Camilla before kissing her on the cheek.

As the evening wore on, guests including Sir Elton John, Dame Kristin Scott Thomas, and footballer Mary Earps mingled and chatted over canapés and cocktails. The menu featured a selection of delicious dishes, including Supreme of Rhug Estate Chicken with Norfolk Asparagus and Tarragon Cream, as well as Iced Blackcurrant Parfait on a Blackcurrant-soaked Sponge with Elderflower Jelly.

But the real highlight of the evening was the music performance by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, featuring three pieces: Fackeltanz No.4, Chanson de Matin, and Scylla et Glaucus. Conducted by Ryan Bancroft, Principal Conductor, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the performance was a stunning display of musical prowess.

Meanwhile, behind-the-scenes, sources close to the Palace revealed that Queen Camilla had arranged for the flowers from the banquet to be donated to Floral Angels, a charity based at the New Covent Garden Flower Market in London. The organization delivers flowers to hospices, care homes, and domestic abuse shelters within the local community.

And what about the King's slight eye issue? Ah, yes! It seems that a small burst blood vessel had caused a red streak on his right eye overnight, but it was just an accident and not related to his cancer treatment. Phew!

As Macron wrapped up his visit to the UK, he promised "effective" action on issues including migration, saying: "The United Kingdom is a strategic partner, an ally, a friend... Together, we will address the major challenges of our time: security, defence, nuclear energy, space, innovation, artificial intelligence, migration, and culture."
