Will Smith to Become 'Welsh Smith'? Actor's Name Change Surprise!

Will Smith has teased a dramatic name change after learning he has multiple connections to Welsh culture

SHOCKING DISCOVERY ROCKS THE STARS: WILL SMITH'S SECRET WELSH HERITAGE EXPOSED!

In a jaw-dropping revelation, Hollywood A-lister Will Smith has just learned that he has multiple connections to Welsh culture - and it's sending shockwaves throughout the entertainment industry!

During an appearance on BBC Radio Wales, Smith, 56, was chatting with host Lucy Owens when she dropped the bombshell: his hometown of Wynnefield, Philadelphia, is actually named after Welsh physician Dr. Thomas Wynne! And that's not all - his mother's hometown of Bryn Mawr, Philadelphia, was named by 17th-century Welsh Quakers.

Will is currently touring his newest album, titled Based on a True Story, which is his first full-length album of his own since 2005's Lost and Found

Smith's reaction? "So I'm Welsh?" he exclaimed, his eyes wide with excitement. "I'm Welsh, basically!" Owens playfully responded, "Yes, Will! You are Welsh and we're claiming you!"

The actor didn't waste any time embracing his newfound heritage - in fact, he was so thrilled that he started brainstorming a new name: Welsh Smith! "That might be my new name," he laughed. "Welsh Smith. I'm gonna be Welsh Smith."

But wait, it gets even more fascinating! Owens shared that Bryn Mawr translates to 'big hill' in Welsh - and Smith's eyes lit up again. "Big Will lives in Big Hill. This is crazy!" he exclaimed.

And what did this unexpected discovery inspire? An impromptu rap session from the Men in Black star himself! Smith gave it a go, rapping: "Big hill, big Will — big still!"

In other news, Smith is set to perform at Cardiff Castle on August 25 - just days after Welsh icon Sir Tom Jones takes the stage. The two stars may not be strangers, though - they once shared the screen on '90s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

But that's not all, folks! In a recent interview with thescholarlynote.com, Smith opened up about his infamous Oscar slap incident with comedian Chris Rock in 2022. He reflected on the moment, describing it as "bruitiful" - a blend of brutal and beautiful.

So, what did he learn from the experience? That being human is key to personal growth and authenticity. As he told Radio 1Xtra host Remi Burgz: "Finding that way to be with my own humanity... be able to not be perfect but be human and find a higher power in my humanity... The honesty and authenticity and the broader spectrum of the possibilities of who I am is better than Will Smith."

With his new Welsh heritage and a newfound appreciation for authenticity, it's safe to say that Smith is ready to take on the world - and we can't wait to see what he does next!
