VMAs 2023: Mariah Carey Shines with Icon Award Amidst Stellar Performances!
RED CARPET ROYALS: 2023 MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS RECAP
Last night, the Scholary Note's team was live at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, for the highly anticipated 2023 MTV Video Music Awards. The star-studded event brought together some of the biggest names in music, fashion, and entertainment, all vying for top honors in their respective categories.
HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE NIGHT
The evening kicked off with a bang as host Taika Waititi took to the stage, setting the tone for an unforgettable night. One of the most anticipated performances of the night was from Taylor Swift, who absolutely slayed the show with her debut performance of "Anti-Hero." The crowd went wild as she belted out her hit single, complete with a jaw-dropping dance routine that left everyone in awe.
But it wasn't all smooth sailing for some of the nominees. We heard whispers of a possible feud brewing between Taylor and fellow nominee, Beyoncé. Sources close to the matter told us that the two divas had been at odds over a particularly contentious category – but we won't spill the tea just yet!
Meanwhile, Bad Bunny took home the coveted Best Latin Video award for his hit single "Tití Me Preguntó." The Puerto Rican rapper was visibly shaken as he accepted the honor, attributing it to his incredible team and the support of his fans.
In a surprising twist, Harry Styles won the award for Best Pop Video for his chart-topping single "As It Was." We caught up with the dashing heartthrob backstage, where he revealed that he was over the moon to have won – and couldn't wait to celebrate with his loved ones later that night!
BIG WINS AND SHOCKING LOSSES
One of the biggest surprises of the night came when Billie Eilish took home the award for Best Female Video. Despite being a heavy favorite in the category, many had predicted a win for Taylor or Beyoncé – but the young pop sensation proved them all wrong with her powerful performance.
Not everyone was as lucky, however. We heard that Lizzo was left feeling "crushed" after losing out on the award for Best Collaboration to Jack Harlow and Drake. The two rappers were spotted celebrating their win backstage, where they praised each other's talents and expressed gratitude for the experience.
A STAR-STUDDED RED CARPET
The Scholary Note team had an absolute blast snapping photos of some of our favorite celebrities on the red carpet. From Billie Eilish's bold fashion statement to Taylor Swift's sleek new 'do, there was no shortage of style and glamour on display.
But one look that really stood out was from none other than Jennifer Coolidge – who rocked a daring sheer gown that left everyone in the room talking. We caught up with the legendary actress backstage, where she dished on her fashion choices and revealed what it's like to be a part of this year's VMAs festivities.
