Valerie Bertinelli Unveils Naked Truths: Aging, Love, and Secrets in New Book
VALERIE BERTINELLI STRIPS DOWN LITERALLY AND LITERARILY IN NEW BOOK COVER
The Queen of 80s sitcoms, Valerie Bertinelli, is taking her shirt off... and we're not just talking about the ones she wore on her hit TV show "One Day at a Time". The 65-year-old actress has bared it all for the cover of her upcoming book, GETTING NAKED, which hits shelves next year. And, honey, she's not just talking about getting naked physically - we're diving deep into the trenches of her mind and heart.
Bertinelli took to Instagram to share the provocative cover with her fans, giving us a hint at what's in store for readers. "I am super excited and delighted (and maybe a tinge nervous) to show you all the cover of my new book," she wrote, accompanied by a heartfelt caption that will leave you feeling all the feels.
"This is my heart broken wide open. It’s a collection of intimate and vulnerable essays, exploring aging, love, friendship, secrets, and acceptance. I didn’t realize how much I needed to write this book until I started writing it: it helped heal something in me that l’m not sure I would’ve been able to do without writing it," she confessed.
And don't even get us started on her words of wisdom for readers. Bertinelli hopes that GETTING NAKED will inspire you to "resist the negative thoughts in your own head, put yourself first, and let go of any judgement you may feel about yourself or what others may try their damnedest to make you feel."
The brunette beauty has had her fair share of ups and downs over the years. From starring on TV shows in her 20s to being married to the legendary Eddie Van Halen (RIP), divorcing Tom Vitale, writing cookbooks, and now working with Drew Barrymore, Bertinelli has been through the wringer.
But it looks like she's not done yet - just last month, the actress was involved in a very public breakup drama with her ex-boyfriend Mike Goodnough. The 54-year-old writer took to Instagram to address speculation that he and Bertinelli were engaging in a "subtle war of words" through cryptic posts.
"No, we're not having some secret love-hate feud on social media," Goodnough wrote in his lengthy caption. "I have never at any time posted something on social media for the purposes of communicating with someone indirectly when I know them personally and have ample ways to reach them directly."
But things took a turn when he started accusing Bertinelli of dragging him online. "While I am disappointed in the array of hostile, dishonest, and uncalled-for backhanded swipes she continues to take at me, there is no war between us," Goodnough wrote. "She just won't stop shooting. Valerie is in a war with her ghosts."
And let's be real, folks - it sounds like Bertinelli has been taking some serious shots at herself (and others) over the years. According to Goodnough, she's been prone to playing a "one-woman tennis match" thinking someone is on the other side of the net.
But in all seriousness, we're excited to see what GETTING NAKED has in store for us. The book will be available for pre-order now and hits shelves on March 10, 2026.
