The 45-year-old action star recently took to social media to showcase his rugged alter-ego, complete with a scraggly beard and messy hair that had some fans comparing him to Tom Hanks' iconic character in Cast Away.

But don't be fooled – this is no ordinary Chris Pratt. The actor has been working tirelessly on Season 2 of The Terminal List, based on the bestselling novel True Believer, and it's clear that he's fully immersed himself in his character. "I just wanted to say, isn't this hair and makeup incredible?" Pratt exclaimed in a video posted on social media, giving a shout-out to his talented team of makeup artists. "My team does such an awesome job – look at this!"

Others chimed in, suggesting that Pratt resembled The Dude from The Big Lebowski – a nod to his laid-back, don't-worry-about-it vibe.

But the actor was quick to clarify that this look is all part of the job description. "Look at – I don't want to tell you what I've been up to, but there's blood on my hands," he joked, holding up his palm to reveal what appeared to be a few fake bloodstains. Pratt explained that the rugged look is an integral part of bringing his character to life, and that his makeup team has worked tirelessly to create the perfect look.

"It's not just about slapping some makeup on – it's a whole process," he said with a grin. "And this mustache's hair? It's like a wig – it's a fake beard! And the crazy thing is when you eat, you get hair in your mouth...which is gross, because it's definitely someone else's hair!"

Pratt praised his team for their realistic work, revealing that the hair and beard were fake as was the 'blood' on his hands. ''They do such great makeup and such great hair,' he said

The actor couldn't help but chuckle at the thought of eating with his new 'stache. "I mean, look at that hair. That came from what? I mean, that's not...someone's pubes?" he joked, leaving fans in stitches.

As for the feedback on his transformation, Pratt was clearly thrilled to be getting such positive responses. "Scruffy-lord," wrote one fan, making a play on words about his Marvel character, Star-Lord – adding "even like that you look this good." Actor and pal Jesse Metcalfe had high praise as well, writing "F**k yeah bro! You look awesome!"
