Tom Sandoval's AGT Performance: Talent or Technical Turmoil?

Tom Sandoval and his band, Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras, failed to impress judge Simon Cowell on Tuesday's episode of America's Got Talent

SCANDOVAL STRIKES AGAIN: TOM SANDOVAL'S AGT PERFORMANCE CRITICIZED BY SIMON COWELL, BUT WAS IT REALLY HIS FAULT?

In a dramatic turn of events, Tom Sandoval's America's Got Talent performance was roasted by viewers and judges alike. However, the Vanderpump Rules star claimed that technical issues plagued his big moment on stage.

During an interview with Access Hollywood's Lauren Herbert, Sandoval revealed that his in-ear monitor stopped working just before showtime. This left him unable to hear himself or the dreaded sound of Simon Cowell's buzzer.

Cowell hit the performance with the dreaded buzzer

"I like Tom, and I like the band, however, you're judging this performance, it didn't sound great. Didn't," Cowell said bluntly during his review. "It might just be me from where I sat, but that did not sound good, I'm afraid. Didn't."

But Sandoval claims that he was unable to hear anything throughout the show, including Cowell's harsh criticism. "A few technical issues, but overall got through it, as much as I could," he admitted. "I didn't even know that Simon buzzed us. Did you know that?" He turned to Herbert, who confirmed that she did.

Sandoval explained that his inner ear monitor stopped working, leaving him unable to hear himself or the music. "It's like you're deaf in that ear, and that happened right before I started, so it kind of threw me off," he said. "Right as I started, I hit my lip with my mic."

Despite the technical issues, Sandoval maintained that he was trying to do more than just sing during his performance. "I was like, alright! Can't really hear myself that well, so like was just kind of dancing my way around it," he said.

However, not everyone was convinced by Sandoval's excuse. Many viewers took to social media to roast his performance, with one writing, "Make it stop" and another sharing a meme from Boy Meets World.

But some fans defended the Vanderpump Rules star, with one writing, "They put on a show. He has the voice, the look, and the moves."

However the performance was plagued by Tom's malfunctioning in ear monitor

The drama surrounding Sandoval's AGT performance comes just two years after he landed at the center of the infamous 'Scandoval' cheating scandal on Vanderpump Rules.

Sandoval cheated on his long-term partner Ariana Madix with their mutual friend Rachel Leviss, plunging him and Leviss into pariah status. But now, it seems that Sandoval is trying to redeem himself in the public eye.

In an interview with Herbert, Sandoval hinted at a possible comeback for himself on Vanderpump Rules. "That's up to everybody out there. That's up to you guys," he said when asked if this show was his comeback.

Sandoval said he was unable to hear 'anything' during his performance due to his troublesome equipment

However, it seems that Sandoval is more interested in showcasing his musical talents than returning to the world of reality TV. "I'm just excited for people to see a different side of me in a different environment. This is a much more positive environment and I'm doing things that I love," he said.

When asked if he would consider heading onto the Vanderpump Rules spin-off, The Valley, in light of Jax Taylor's departure, Sandoval seemed less than enthusiastic. "I mean, I don't know. It doesn't sound like that much fun to me. I think there's a lot more fun things that I could be doing," he admitted.

Despite the drama surrounding his AGT performance, it remains to be seen if Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras will earn enough votes from viewers to proceed to the next round on Wednesday.
