Tom Holland vs. Carlos Alcaraz: Can Spider-Man Defeat a Tennis Ace at Golf?
Wimbledon's A-List: Tennis Ace Carlos Alcaraz Spills Tea on Spider-Man Showdown with Tom Holland!
The tennis world was abuzz yesterday as Spanish sensation Carlos Alcaraz dominated the courts, securing a spot in the Wimbledon semi-finals against American Taylor Fritz. But it seems this tennis ace has a secret passion - golf! And who better to challenge him than Spider-Man himself, Tom Holland?
As Alcaraz wrapped up his practice session on the outside courts, he spotted the 29-year-old actor and quipped, "I saw you playing golf this morning. You have a good swing!" Holland, ever the competitor, seized the opportunity to issue a challenge: "We should play. I'll give you my number, and we'll get a game in." Alcaraz, being the good sport he is, replied with a firm "For sure!"
But will Spider-Man be able to take down this tennis titan on the golf course? Only time (and a tee-time) will tell! After his impressive victory over Cameron Norrie, Alcaraz was asked about his plans to face off against Holland. The Spanish star replied, "Once we set up a match of golf, I just go for it. I've seen some videos of him playing golf - I would love to play against him. Let's see if he will be available and we will set it up."
Golf-mad Alcaraz has been spending his downtime teeing off, with even former Wimbledon winner Andy Murray getting in on the action. The two pros engaged in a friendly competition, with Alcaraz revealing, "He said to you to ask this question, right? He beat me that day. But then a few days later we played again and I beat him. So it's 1-1!" Talk about keeping it real!
As for the A-list crowd watching the drama unfold on Centre Court, actress Sienna Miller was spotted looking radiant in a £1,425 floral patterned minidress from Alessandra Rich, accompanied by partner Oli Green. Mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins and former Chelsea and England captain John Terry were also courtside, cheering on their favorite players.
Sir Mark Rylance added some dashing flair to the proceedings, rocking an olive green suit with a smart beige waistcoat and oxblood leather shoes. The celebrated actor, 65, looked as though he was having the time of his life, posing for photos alongside artist and documentary photographer Lisa Barnard.
Richard E. Grant made an appearance in the Royal Box with his daughter Olivia, while English celebrity chef Marcus Wareing was spotted with his wife Jane at the championships. The Princess of Wales's parents, Sir Lenny Henry and Michael McIntyre, were also among the notable names to attend on Monday.
Carole and Michael Middleton, as well as the Duchess of Edinburgh and the Duchess of Gloucester, added a touch of royal glamour to the proceedings. Other stars in attendance included Arsenal and England footballer Bukayo Saka, actors Tom Felton and Sir Ian McKellen, and even actress Jodie Foster, who brought a touch of Hollywood flair with her presence.
