Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Roast Meghan Markle with Hilarious Jabs at Atlantic City Show
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Spill Tea on Hollywood's Elite: Meghan Markle, Ben Affleck, Channing Tatum, and More!
The queen of comedy, Tina Fey, and her BFF, Amy Poehler, brought the house down at Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City over the weekend with their hilarious Restless Leg Tour. The Saturday Night Live alums didn't hold back when it came to roasting A-listers like Meghan Markle, Ben Affleck, Channing Tatum, and more!
The duo kicked off their sold-out shows on June 21st with a sizzling monologue that had the audience in stitches. Tina, 55, and Amy, 53, took turns poking fun at absent celebrities, starting with Ben Affleck. "Ben Affleck is not here. He's home going through his contacts looking for more Jennifers to bother," Tina quipped.
Amy jumped in, teasing Nicole Kidman about her impressive filmography: "Nicole Kidman is not here tonight. She's too busy being in every single movie and TV show in her name."
The comedians continued their celebrity roast, taking aim at Meghan Markle for not attending the event. But instead of just dissing her, they went full-on ridiculous, joking that she was too busy baking cookies with edible flower petals (like those featured on her Netflix show With Love, Meghan).
"Meghan Markle is not here tonight. She's putting flower sprinkles on cookies, and Piers Morgan is furiously rage-masturbating about it," Amy snickered.
The jokes kept coming, with the duo even getting in a dig at Channing Tatum: "We're going to cook Channing Tatum. Amy says she'd dice him up and pan-fry him over an open flame. I say slow-braise him and top him with olive oil, lemon, and then save his skin to make merkins so that no spiders get into our vaginas at night," Tina joked.
But the real juice came when they started talking about their own friendship. "Amy and I have been friends for a really long time. We met in 2000, and we were both trying to figure out what the heck was going on with our lives," Tina shared.
The comedians also touched on the #MeToo movement, praising the "white women" in the audience for being part of the solution: "This is finally a safe place for you. Don't worry about it. Don't Google it."
Tina even shared a hilarious anecdote about her kids' birthday parties, reminding parents not to stress too much about throwing perfect celebrations: "They're not going to remember their first seven birthday parties. They'll remember the feeling of being loved. They're not going to remember if the Bluey plates don't match the Paw Patrol cup."
And, of course, they had to get in a few more jokes at Meghan Markle's expense – including one about her famous fruit platter made in the shape of a rainbow: "So, if you're like making a Meghan Sussex fruit rainbow, just know that you're doing that for you. Okay? You're doing that to prove something to yourself and that's okay too."
The real pièce de résistance came when Tina started talking about blurring her kids' faces on social media – a move famously made by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. "I wanted to respect Archie's privacy, so that is a picture of Amy with a baby filter on it," she joked.
It's clear that these two comedy queens have no filter when it comes to roasting their A-list friends! Stay tuned for more juicy gossip from thescholarlynote.com!
