Teresa Giudice had an on-air meltdown when she was quizzed on her tax woes during a painfully awkward interview on Friday

SCANDALOUS! Teresa Giudice Melts Down During Brutal Tax Questioning on Live TV

In a jaw-dropping moment that left viewers stunned, Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice lost her cool during an explosive interview on Chicago's WGN News. The drama unfolded when host Larry Potash dared to ask the reality queen about her family's tax woes, sending her into a rage-fueled tailspin.

The 52-year-old TV personality, who has been dealing with millions in tax liens since earlier this year, was asked if she would be returning for the show's reboot. Initially, Giudice seemed cooperative, responding with a playful "I hope. I'm the OG, yes. So we'll see what happens." But things took a dark turn when Potash inquired about her family's tax record, asking: "How is it that a family doesn't pay their taxes for years?"

The Real Housewives star, 52, who along with husband Luis Ruelas was hit with millions in tax liens this year, hung up after she was asked why she 'didn't pay her taxes for years' in an incendiary moment - pictured 2023

Giudice's eyes narrowed as she asked who he was referring to, and when Potash confirmed it was her family, the firebrand starlet snapped. "Okay, I'm done now" she spat, before frantically trying to hang up the phone.

The hosts' stunned reactions only added to the drama: "She didn't like that question! Isn't that part of the show?" The tension was palpable as Giudice's meltdown played out on live television.

This isn't the first time Giudice has faced tax troubles. In 2015, she served 11 months in prison for mail, wire, and bankruptcy fraud. Her ex-husband Joe Giudice also got caught up in a similar scandal, pleading guilty to 41 counts of bank, mail, wire, and bankruptcy fraud. He was sentenced to 41 months behind bars.

The interview on Chicago's WGN News began pleasantly enough as the star was asked if she would be appearing in The Real Housewives of] New Jersey reboot, to which she responded: 'I hope. I’m the OG, yes. So we’ll see what happens'

Fast-forward to 2023, and Teresa's new hubby Luis Ruelas (49) has joined her in tax trouble, with a whopping $2,569,842.06 lien slapped on him. The New Jersey Courts website reveals that Teresa owes a staggering $303,889.20 in unpaid taxes, while Luis's debt is significantly higher.

The drama doesn't stop there. Gia, the couple's 19-year-old daughter, recently opened up about her family's financial struggles on Casual Chaos. According to Gia, her mom has been "working her butt off" since Joe's prison sentence to ensure their daughters live a stable life. She assured fans that everything will be resolved and that mom Teresa has everything under control.

As the drama continues to unfold, one thing is clear: Teresa Giudice isn't afraid of a little controversy. After all, she's built a career on being unapologetically herself – tax troubles and all.

However, her smile soon faded as host Larry Potash quipped: 'How is it that a family doesn’t pay their taxes for years?'

Giudice - who served 11 months in prison for mail, wire and bankruptcy fraud in 2015 - asked who he was referring to, and when Potash responded 'your family' her reaction was swift

She hung up as the baffled hosts laughed

Teresa originally met Luis on the Jersey shore in September 2020 - the same exact month she finalized her divorce from ex-husband Joe Giudice (L, pictured in 2014) after 20 years of marriage
