EXCLUSIVE SCOOP: Hollywood's Darling Tatiana Maslany Calls for Cancellation of Disney+ Subscriptions Amid Jimmy Kimmel's Suspension

In a shocking turn of events, actress Tatiana Maslany has urged fans to cancel their Disney+ subscriptions in solidarity with suspended late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel. The 39-year-old She-Hulk star took to her Instagram stories on Thursday to express her outrage over the ABC network's decision to pull the plug on Kimmel's popular show, citing his recent comments about Charlie Kirk's tragic death.

Maslany's bold move comes as Hollywood continues to respond to the news of Kimmel's indefinite suspension. The comedian's remarks about the suspected shooter, Tyler Robinson, being a Republican and part of the "Maga gang," sparked outrage among some viewers, with ABC ultimately deciding to axe his show from their lineup.

The actress jumped to her Instagram stories on Thursday to side with the comedian one day after his late night talk show was suspended 'indefinitely' by ABC following his remarks over Charlie Kirk; Kimmel seen in

But Maslany is not alone in her defense of Kimmel. Other celebrities, including Ben Stiller, John Legend, Josh Gad, and Alison Brie, have come out in support of the embattled comedian, taking to social media to express their outrage over ABC's decision.

"This isn't right," Ben Stiller tweeted on X (formerly Twitter), reposting the news of Kimmel's suspension. "We need to stand up for free speech and not let corporations silence us!"

Meanwhile, John Legend shared a post by David Frum that read: "How dare you call us fascists just because our appointees threaten government retaliation against broadcast networks if their comedians don't say what we want them to say."

She then added text at the top which read: 'Cancel your @disneyplus @hulu @espn subscriptions'

Josh Gad chimed in, saying: "I see we are at the passive participation of authoritarianism now. God help us all." Alison Brie shared a news alert on Instagram: "This is unreal. And very scary."

But not everyone is standing up for Kimmel. Sinclair Inc., which runs Jimmy Kimmel Live! on local stations, has announced that they will be replacing the show with a Charlie Kirk tribute. The broadcaster also urged Kimmel to issue a direct apology to the Kirk family and make a meaningful personal donation to Turning Point USA.

The company's statement read: "We urge Mr. Kimmel to take responsibility for his actions and apologize to the Kirk family for any harm caused by his reckless comments."

Maslany portrayed the role of She-Hulk/Jennifer Walters in the Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney At Law which was based on the Marvel Comics character (seen above)

But Kimmel fans are not buying it. SAG-AFTRA, the acting guild that represents many of Kimmel's colleagues, has come out in support of the comedian, condemning the suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live! as a threat to free speech.

"Our society depends on freedom of expression," said the guild in a statement. "Suppression of free speech and retaliation for speaking out on significant issues of public concern run counter to the fundamental rights we all rely on."

The WGA West and East also weighed in, saying: "The right to speak our minds and to disagree with each other – to disturb, even – is at the very heart of what it means to be a free people. It is not to be denied."

During his monologue on Monday, the star said the 'MAGA gang' was 'desperately trying to characterize the kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it'; seen in June

But amidst all the controversy, Trump has come out on top, gloating over Kimmel's suspension on his Truth Social platform. "Great News for America: The ratings-challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED," he wrote.

"Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done. Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that's possible."

The US President also took a jab at late-night talk show host Stephen Colbert, saying: "That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!!! President DJT."

The network's affiliate group, Nexstar, additionally shared that it 'strongly objects' to Kimmel's comments and 'will replace the show with other programming in its ABC-affiliated markets'; Kirk seen in 2024 in Arizona

But Kimmel is not going down without a fight. According to sources close to the comedian, he was set to address his controversial remarks on his show Wednesday night before receiving news that he had been axed.

Now, with his future hanging in the balance, Kimmel has emerged from the shadows, seen driving a sleek black vehicle through a parking structure in Los Angeles on Thursday. But will he be able to bounce back from this latest setback?

Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure – Hollywood's eyes are glued to the drama unfolding before us.

Ben Stiller jumped over to X to repost the news of ABC taking Kimmel off air and typed out: 'This isn't right'
