Sydney Sweeney: The Rising Star Set to Revitalize the Bond Franchise?
BOND GIRL SPOTTED: Sydney Sweeney is the Top Contender to Become the Next Bond Girl!
In a shocking turn of events, sources close to the highly-anticipated James Bond film have revealed that rising star Sydney Sweeney, 27, is the top contender to land the coveted role as the next Bond girl!
According to insiders, director Denis Villeneuve, who is a friend and admirer of Sweeney's work, has reportedly chosen her as his top pick for the role. And if that wasn't enough, Jeff Bezos, head honcho at Amazon and creative force behind the film, is also said to be fully backing the White Lotus star.
A source close to the production told The Scholarly Note: "Sydney is the top name on the casting sheet for Bond. Denis believes she's hugely talented, as well as having an alluring appeal to younger generations, vital in modernizing the franchise. They've hung out together a lot and he has admired her stratospheric rise."
Meanwhile, the search for the next James Bond himself continues to be shrouded in mystery. Bookmakers Coral have narrowed it down to three top contenders: Aaron Taylor-Johnson, 35, Jack Lowden, also 35, and Theo James, 40.
But don't count out Henry Cavill, 42, who's still a strong contender at 10-1. And Spiderman star Tom Holland? Sorry, folks! He's too busy filming Spider-Man: Brand New Day to take on the role of 007.
BOND DIRECTOR DENIS VILLENEUVE SPEAKS OUT
In a statement, Villeneuve gushed about his love for Bond and his excitement to bring the franchise back to life. "Some of my earliest movie-going memories are connected to 007," he confessed. "I grew up watching James Bond films with my father, ever since Dr. No with Sean Connery." He added, "I'm a die-hard Bond fan. To me, he's sacred territory. I intend to honor the tradition and open the path for many new missions to come."
BOND PRODUCERS WEIGH IN
Bond producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman have also chimed in on Villeneuve's appointment. "Denis has been a Bond fan since he was a little boy," they said. "It was always his dream to make this movie, and now it's ours too. We are lucky to be in the hands of this extraordinary filmmaker."
LIVERPOOL TO STAND IN FOR LONDON?
Rumors are swirling that Amazon is considering setting the next Bond film in Liverpool instead of London due to a filming ban being imposed in Central London next year. An insider spilled: "Liverpool is a well-known alternative to London for filmmakers. It has appeared in everything from The Batman to Captain America and Harry Potter movies, doubling up as international cities." While it's unclear if the story will be set in Liverpool or just feature the city in the background, one thing is certain – Bond fans are on the edge of their seats waiting for more news!
