The girlfriend of reality TV star Mike Wolfe has shared graphic photos from their terrifying car accident, revealing just how close to death they came. Leticia Cline, a city councilwoman and motorcycle enthusiast, has been sharing the gruesome details of their near-fatal crash on Instagram, leaving fans shocked and worried about her well-being.
On September 12th, Mike, 61, and his girlfriend were involved in a collision with an SUV while driving their vintage Porsche in Tennessee. The impact was so severe that Leticia's side took most of the force, leaving her with multiple injuries, including a dislocated jaw (which is also broken in three places!), a broken sternum, ribs, and a collapsed lung. Yikes!
To make matters worse, the couple was only wearing lap belts at the time of the crash, which didn't do much to protect them from the brutal impact.
According to Leticia's Instagram post, the accident happened when an SUV pulled out from a side street, giving Mike little time to react. "A man driving an SUV pulled out from a side street, and we had little to no time to react," she wrote. "My side took most of the impact as Mike tried to swerve to miss the other driver."
Mike was airlifted to Vanderbilt Hospital, while Leticia was taken by ambulance. She spent several days in the hospital before being released on Tuesday afternoon. The road to recovery won't be easy for her, though – she's scheduled for major surgery on Monday, and will have a wired jaw and a long rehab ahead.
Meanwhile, Mike has been released from the hospital after suffering a broken nose, stitches, and heavy bruising to his face. He's one lucky guy! Leticia praised their medical team for their excellent care, saying, "I'm incredibly grateful for our amazing doctors, family, friends, and pastor who have been with us every step of the way."
As fans took to social media to send their well-wishes, Leticia expressed her gratitude for all the love and support they've received. She wrote: "To everyone who has reached out, prayed, or sent well wishes, you'll never know how much your kindness has carried us... I'm deeply grateful for your prayers, messages, and donations."
But what's most shocking about this story is that Leticia has been in a few car crashes before – she was even a motorcycle racer back in the day! Still, nothing could have prepared her for the extent of her injuries from this particular crash.
