SEASON FIVE SENSATION!

Get ready for the most anticipated return of the year - Only Murders In The Building is back, and it's bigger than ever!

The hit Disney+ show, created by the incomparable Steve Martin, has finally confirmed its fifth season premiere date as September 9. And to make things even more exciting, a first-look picture featuring Steve Martin, Selena Gomez, and Martin Short has been revealed, giving us a glimpse of what's in store for our beloved trio.

The beloved crime show will be making its comeback to Disney+ on September 9, with ten brand new episodes, after the fourth series finished in October last year

For those who may have missed the previous seasons (are you kidding me?!), Only Murders In The Building follows three neighbors - Charles (Steve), Mabel (Selena), and Oliver (Martin) - as they investigate a series of murders in their upscale apartment building, the Arconia. With their keen interest in true crime podcasts, these amateur sleuths turn their findings into a podcast that's become a viral sensation.

In the upcoming fifth season, things are about to get a whole lot more intense. The plot thickens as our heroes delve into the mysterious death of their beloved doorman, Lester (Teddy Coluca). As they begin digging deeper, they uncover a web of billionaires, mobsters, and shady characters within the building itself.

But that's not all - this season will also see the return of fan favorites Howard (Michael Cyril Creighton), Oliver's wife Loretta (Meryl Streep), and a slew of A-list guest stars, including Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Renee Zellweger, Christoph Waltz, Keegan Michael-Key, Dianne Wiest, Richard Kind, Nathan Lane, Bobby Cannavale, Logan Lerman, Tea Leoni, Beanie Feldstein, and Jermaine Fowler.

The programme follows three neighbours, all with a keen interest in true crime podcasts, living in an upmarket apartment building in New York City

And let's not forget the movie magic that went down in the fourth season! Our trio traveled to Hollywood to work on a film about their podcast's creation, with Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria, and Zach Galifianakis playing the detective trio. Melissa McCarthy, Molly Shannon, and Kumail Nanjiani also made appearances.

But what really got everyone talking was the murder mystery that unfolded in season four. Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch), Charles' stunt double, met her untimely demise, and our heroes were convinced that the murder was meant for Charles himself. As they worked to track down the killer, we saw a whole new side of these lovable misfits.

So, what can you expect from season five? Well, let's just say it's going to be a wild ride. With three episodes dropping initially, followed by one every week subsequently, you won't want to miss this.

It comes after the fourth season saw the leads travel from their hometown of New York City to Hollywood to work on a movie about how their podcast was created

The wait is almost over, folks! Mark your calendars for September 9 and get ready to binge the most thrilling, hilarious, and entertaining season yet of Only Murders In The Building on Disney+.

Unlike previous seasons, episodes of series four aired on a weekly basis rather than all at once

Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria and Zach Galifianakis played the detective trio in the movie within the most recent instalment

The three pals experience several surprises once they land in southern California

There was a murder to solve as well, of course, as every season involves a mystery the pals have to figure out

In that series, Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch), who was Charles' stunt double, was killed. But the gang thought the murder was meant for Charles, not Sazz - and so the sleuths were determined to track down the killer

Only Murders in the Building series four premiered on August 27

The trio was seen in Beverly Hills in a teaser shared in May last year

They were joined by some new faces such as Melissa McCarthy and Molly Shannon - while Kumail Nanjiani was also onboard

Towards the end of the trailer, Selena, Steve and Martin sat in a meeting with Hollywood executives, negotiating payment with Molly's character (pictured)
