Star Wars Hero's Political Saga: Mark Hamill's Stark Warning on Trump's Victory

After comparing Donald Trump's 2024 election win to Pearl Harbor, Mark Hamill went right back to attacking him in a recent interview with The Times

MARK HAMILL UNLEASHES FURY ON TRUMP: Actor Slams President and Ponders Slicing His Wrists in Exaggerated Rant

In a scathing interview with The Times, Star Wars icon Mark Hamill let loose his fury on Donald Trump's potential 2024 election win. The outspoken actor, known for playing the iconic Luke Skywalker for four decades, took aim at the president and his supporters, calling them "the MAGA crowd."

Hamill, who has become one of the most vocal A-listers against the second Trump administration, unleashed a series of biting remarks in the wide-ranging interview. When discussing the possibility of Trump winning again, Hamill quipped, "The only way I can deal with it without going crazy and wanting to open my veins in a warm tub is to look at it like a thick, sprawling political novel." He then went on to say, "It's entertaining in a way because this could actually be the end. Our status in the world has been crippled and that will reverberate for decades."

The 69-year-old actor, known for his sharp wit and sarcasm, didn't hold back in criticizing Trump's policies and actions. He took aim at the president's proposal to make Canada a 51st state, calling it "offensive." Hamill also mocked Trump's plan to take over Greenland and rename the Gulf of Mexico, saying, "The distractions are hilarious."

Hamill has long been a vocal supporter of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, whom he endorsed during the election. In the weeks following Trump's 2016 election victory, Hamill famously declared that the date would "live in infamy," a nod to Franklin D. Roosevelt's description of the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941.

More recently, Hamill took issue with Trump's visit to Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia last August, where he was seen posing with the families of the victims while smiling and giving a thumbs up. "Nothing to see here," Hamill wrote in response. "Just the tone-deaf draft dodger gleefully giving a thumbs-up at the graves of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country."

Despite his strong opinions, Hamill revealed that he considered leaving the United States after Trump's election victory. In fact, he told his wife, Marilou York, about moving back to England or Ireland. However, she shot down the idea, saying, "I'm surprised you would allow him to force you out of your own country." Hamill was impressed by her response and said, "That son of a bitch, I thought. I'm not leaving."

Hamill and his wife live in Malibu, California, where their home was spared from the devastating Los Angeles wildfires that ravaged over 23,000 acres of land in January. Thousands were forced to evacuate, including Hamill, who narrowly escaped the Palisades fire.

The White House responded to Hamill's comments with a scathing statement to Fox News. A White House spokeswoman slammed him, saying, "Since Mark has decided to stay in the United States, he will get to enjoy the many wins President Trump is securing for the American people - and really, who can blame him for second-guessing a plan to move to the same place as Rosie O'Donnell?"

O'Donnell, a longtime Trump nemesis from her TV days, revealed that she moved to Ireland full-time in March. Other celebrities, including Eva Longoria, Courtney Love, and Ellen DeGeneres, have also fled the US due to Trump's presidency.

As the 2024 election looms on the horizon, it remains to be seen whether Hamill will continue to speak out against Trump. One thing is certain, however: Mark Hamill won't be backing down anytime soon.
