Spice Girls Drama: Mel C Drops Sizzling New Song, But Is There a War Waging Behind the Scenes?

Melanie C is back and better than ever! The 51-year-old Spice Girl sizzled in a red-hot Instagram clip, flaunting her chiseled abs and bulging biceps as she announced her latest song release, Sweat. And trust us, it's exactly what we needed to get our spice on!

Mel B, also known as Sporty Spice, has been making waves with her feisty comments about the group's WhatsApp groups, which have sparked a heated debate among fans and fellow Spices. But let's not get ahead of ourselves – after all, Mel C is here to remind us that she's still got it!

The Spice Girl, 51, appeared in incredible shape as she announced her latest song release, Sweat which i s released on Friday

The Spice Girl, known for her iconic style and infectious energy, took to Instagram to share some exclusive details about her upcoming ninth studio album, Sweat, set to drop on May 1st, 2026. The title track, also called "Sweat", is an electro-house banger that samples Diana Ross's Work That Body while Mel powers through a vintage workout-style strength routine – yes, you read that right!

But what really caught our attention was Mel C's sassy post: 'NEW ERA ACTIVATED ‘SWEAT’ IS OUT NOW! And the album drops 1st May!' She went on to say, "I'm so happy this track is finally all yours. Dance to it. Run to it. Lift to it. SWEAT to it." Sounds like Mel C is ready to take over the dance floor and we couldn't be more excited!

And if you thought that was all, think again! Mel C announced a special show at O2 Academy Brixton on October 23rd, 2026 – yes, you read that right, just a few months after her album release. But here's the catch: fans will have to pre-order Sweat from her official store before Friday, October 24th, 2025 (9:55 am sharp!) to unlock pre-sale tickets.

In the clip, Mel posed in various positions as she wore a red and grey Bondi Active gym set, consisting of £54 Flutter shorts and a £42 scoop neck bra

But what about those Spice Girls WhatsApp groups? As you may know, Mel C dropped a bombshell on Heart Radio earlier this month when she revealed there are separate groups amid multiple fallouts between the women. And let's just say it got juicy! According to the singer, Victoria Beckham is part of one group, while Geri Halliwell-Horner and Emma Bunton have their own.

Mel C hinted at a WhatsApp group without her on it (ouch!) when Jamie Theakston asked if there was indeed a group. And let's just say Mel B didn't hold back: 'Of course, there is!' Sporty Spice replied. Oh, the tea!

This isn't the first time we've heard about Spice Girls drama – Geri pulled out of plans for a new tour after reportedly losing patience with "little digs" from Mel B and can't bear to share the stage with her bandmate anymore. And if that wasn't enough, Daily Mail previously revealed (via The Scholarly Note) Victoria Beckham's Netflix documentary where she confessed to being hurt by Mel B's words: 'don't forget where you've come from'.

The songstress will release her ninth studio album, Sweat, on 1st May 2026 via Virgin Music Group

But wait – it gets even better! In a 2003 interview on CD: UK, Mel C infamously branded Geri as "untalented". Ouch!

As the Spice Girls' reunion dreams continue to crumble, fans can only wonder what's next for this iconic girl group. But one thing is for sure – Sweat is here to get us moving and grooving like it's 1999 all over again! So, are you ready to sweat with Mel C?

**Stay tuned for more updates on the Spice Girls drama and keep your eyes peeled for Mel C's album release and special show dates.

Later today, Mel will also host a live Q&A on Instagram ahead of the debut of the track's video at 4pm

Her upcoming release comes after she revealed there are separate Spice Girls WhatsApp groups amid multiple fallouts between the women
