Spice Up The Drama: Geri, Victoria & Mel B's Ongoing Feuds!

While they may have sung that 'friendship never ends', the Spice Girls have struggled to practise what they preached, famously falling out on several occasions (L-R Mel C, Geri Halliwell-Horner, Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton and Mel B in 1997)

Spice Girls: The Saga of Friendship, Frenemies, and Fallout

The Spice Girls, a girl power phenomenon that dominated the 1990s music scene, have been embroiled in a series of high-profile feuds, fallouts, and catty comments over the years. From Geri's departure to Victoria's snubs, Mel B's meltdowns, and Emma's exhaustion, it seems like the group has been more drama than harmony.

The Original Frenemies: Geri vs. Mel

The root of the Spice Girls' feud can be traced back to the Nineties, when Geri decided to quit the band when they were at the height of their fame (pictured in 1999)

It all started when Geri Horner (née Halliwell) left the group in 2000, citing a desire to focus on her solo career and personal life. But rumors swirled that she was actually pushed out by her bandmates, particularly Mel B (Melanie Brown), who had grown tired of Geri's diva antics.

Fast forward to 2022, when Geri and the rest of the Spice Girls were approached about a new TV drama series. Insiders claimed that talks were going well until Geri decided to back out of her involvement in the project. "It would have seen five actresses taking on the roles of Posh, Ginger, Scary, Sporty, and Baby," said a source. "The venture would have landed them all pay deals of around £1million for essentially not lifting a finger."

But it seems like Geri's decision was the final straw in her long-standing feud with Mel B. The two women have been at odds for years, with Mel frequently making snide comments about Geri's age and appearance.

Fans rejoiced in 2007 when the Spice Girls announced they would finally be reuniting as a five-piece, but the tour was dogged by disaster and was ultimately cut short

Mel B: The Rebellious One

Mel B has always been known as the wild child of the group, but her behavior has become increasingly erratic over the years. In 2022, she sparked a new controversy when she claimed that no one knows Geri's true age. "No one's seen her passport," Mel sniped on her podcast So Wrong It's Right. "I mean, I know we've travelled the world, but I still don't know how old she is."

When asked about her comments, Mel seemed nonchalant, saying, "Oh, I was just joking." But insiders claim that the tension between Geri and Mel has been building for months.

Victoria's Snubs

Meanwhile, Victoria Beckham (née Adams) has been keeping a low profile since her departure from the group. But when she did emerge, it was to celebrate a major milestone: her 50th birthday in April 2022. The fashion designer gathered her Spice Girls bandmates for a lavish party at Oswald's in London, but insiders claimed that Geri and Mel B were feeling tense.

"Geri wanted to be there to celebrate and have a good laugh with everyone," said a source. "But Mel tried to smooth things over with Geri at the party, but it didn't go as planned."

Prior to the tour, Mel B caused upset by revealing on Piers Morgan's Life Stories that she and Geri enjoyed a lesbian fling during the band's Nineties heyday

When questioned about her comments on Mel's podcast, Victoria seemed to take the high road, saying, "I love you all so much!" But behind closed doors, it seems like the tension between the group members is still simmering.

Emma's Exhaustion

Emma Bunton (Baby Spice) has been a constant presence in the Spice Girls saga, but she's not immune to the drama. In 2022, she was reportedly feeling exhausted after years of touring and promoting with the group.

Mel B and Geri were also said to have clashed over differences in opinion regarding their tour costumes - with Mel eager to relaunch herself as an 'sexy star'

Insiders claimed that Emma had been talking about leaving the group for months, citing burnout and exhaustion. "She's had enough," said a source. "The constant touring, the endless promotional appearances... it's all taking a toll on her mental health."

But despite her exhaustion, Emma seems to be sticking by her bandmates, even if they're not always getting along.

Mel B's Meltdowns

Just as things seemed to have simmered between the Spice Girls, Mel B sparked Geri's wrath when she claimed the singer was lying about her age

Mel B has been known for her outspoken personality, but in 2022, she seemed to cross the line when she branded her bandmates "d*heads" on TV. When asked about the comment, Mel seemed unrepentant, saying, "I don't know if a reunion could happen. We'll see."

It's clear that the tension between Mel and her bandmates is running high, with some insiders even suggesting that she's been banned from their WhatsApp group.

The Wedding Snub

The band thrilled fans as they reunited at Victoria's 50th, dancing to their hit Stop - but Geri did everything in her power to avoid making amends with Mel

Just when you thought it was safe to assume that the Spice Girls drama had subsided, Mel B announced that she would be tying the knot with Rory Haralabidis at St Paul's Cathedral in May 2023. But who would attend? The answer: not Geri and Victoria.

According to sources, Victoria has "long-standing plans out of the country" and couldn't attend. But insiders claim that the snub is more than just a scheduling conflict.

"Geri and Mel have been at odds for years," said an insider. "This is just another example of their complicated relationship."

With plans for a reunion in tatters, Mel let her acid tongue loose as she branded her bandmates d***heads'

The Saga Continues...

It seems like the Spice Girls saga will continue to dominate headlines for months to come. With Geri and Mel B's ongoing feud, Victoria's snubs, Emma's exhaustion, and Mel B's meltdowns, it's clear that these five women are more drama than harmony.

But despite their differences, they'll always be remembered as the Spice Girls – a phenomenon that defined an era of music, fashion, and girl power.

Tension between the band seemed to be brewing back in May, when Mel B celebrated her 50th with Mel C and Emma - while Victoria and Geri were nowhere to be seen
