Snoop Dogg's Heartfelt U-Turn: Embracing Love and LGBTQ+ Inclusivity

Snoop Dogg, 53, made clear he's a friend of the LGBTQ + community in a new interview, two months after remarks that drew criticism

SNOOP DOGG SAYS "LOVE IS LOVE" IN NEW INTERVIEW, APOLOGIZES FOR PREVIOUS Remarks

In a bold move, Snoop Dogg has made it clear that he's an ally of the LGBTQ+ community in a new interview with Jeremy Beloate, a musical artist who identifies as queer. The 53-year-old rapper seems to have taken a cue from his recent collaboration with Beloate on their new single "Love Is Love" for his animated YouTube kids show Doggyland.

The song, which aims to teach children about parenthood and the importance of love in all its forms, has been praised by many as a beautiful way to promote understanding and acceptance. But what's more interesting is Snoop Dogg's journey from making headlines with remarks that sparked criticism just two months ago.

Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr.,  y Beloate, a musical artist who identifies as queer who he past collaborated with on The Voice .

In August, the veteran rapper caused a stir when he expressed discomfort watching the Disney movie Lightyear with his granddaughter. He claimed to be "scared to go to the movies now" after being confronted with LGBTQ+ characters in the film. Snoop Dogg seemed bewildered by the storyline and admitted that he didn't have an answer for his 6-year-old grandson's questions.

However, it appears that Snoop Dogg has been learning from his mistakes. In a recent conversation with Beloate for GLAAD's Spirit Day segment, the rapper opened up about his growth and newfound understanding. "It's a beautiful thing that kids can have parents of all walks and be shown love, to be taught what love is," he said.

Snoop Dogg went on to explain how he loves the idea that children are being raised by loving parents who show them what family truly means, regardless of their background or identity. "Love is the key," he emphasized, highlighting the importance of acceptance and inclusivity in today's society.

The Long Beach, California native said he liked the idea that children growing up now are 'able to have parents from all walks of life, whether it be two fathers, two mothers, whatever it is'

The rapper also expressed his desire to use music as a tool for spreading love and respect for everyone. "Partnering with GLAAD for Spirit Day just felt right, because spreading love and respect for everybody is what real gangstas do," Snoop Dogg said, adding that he wants to show the next generation that kindness and inclusion are indeed powerful.

This move has been met with praise from fans and LGBTQ+ activists alike. Jeremy Beloate, who collaborated with Snoop Dogg on "Love Is Love," shared his gratitude for their partnership on GLAAD's Instagram page, saying, "Love you @snoopdogg... what a beautiful day."

But what about Snoop Dogg's previous comments? It seems that the rapper has taken to heart the lessons he's learned from his mistakes. In an apology statement, he acknowledged being caught off-guard by the LGBTQ+ storyline in Lightyear and admitted that he didn't have the answers for his grandsons' questions.

The Young, Wild & Free rapper and Beloate worked together on Love Is Love, a new single for the rapper's new animated YouTube kids show Doggyland

"I was just caught off-guard and had no answer for my grandsons all my gay friends [know] what’s up they been calling me with love," Snoop Dogg said, adding that he's not perfect but is willing to learn from his mistakes. "My bad for not knowing the answers for a 6 yr old… teach me how to learn."

It's clear that Snoop Dogg has undergone a significant transformation since his previous remarks sparked controversy. His newfound commitment to spreading love and acceptance will undoubtedly resonate with fans around the world.

As Beloate aptly put it, "What a beautiful day." With Snoop Dogg at the forefront of this movement, we can only imagine what's in store for the future of LGBTQ+ representation and awareness.
