Simone Ashley Unveils Her Anxiety Struggle and Upcoming Album After Bridgerton Fame

Simone Ashley opened up to Harper's Bazaar about suffering from 'a lot of anxiety' after her fame sky-rocketed following the release of Bridgerton

Simone Ashley Opens Up About Anxiety and Heartbreak: "I've Reached a Point Where I Just Don't Care as Much"

In a candid interview with TheScholarlyNote.com, Simone Ashley is opening up about the highs and lows of her whirlwind rise to fame following her breakout role in Netflix's hit series Bridgerton. The 30-year-old actress, who first gained recognition for her role in Sex Education, has been catapulted into the public eye, but it's not all glamour and glory.

Simone admits that she struggled with anxiety after Bridgerton's massive success, revealing that she would often avoid leaving the house to avoid being recognized. "When Bridgerton came out, those were some of the best years of my life, but I also had a lot of anxiety," she confesses. "I was coming to terms with what I wanted and what I didn't, learning lessons about what really matters to me... Life has changed and there are certain things I can and can't do now."

The actress, 30, plays Kathani 'Kate' Bridgerton in the Netflix series but her rise to fame first came after her appearance in Sex Education

But Simone's recent heartbreak has been a major catalyst for her upcoming album, which promises to be a deeply personal and emotional release. "It's going to be somewhat confessional... and beautiful and messy," she teases. "That idealistic expectation of being single and having a completely clean start is not what I have been pursuing. Good songs don't come from times when my life is regimented and predictable. They come when I am feeling vitality, and usually you either feel that way when your heart's broken, or you're euphoric."

The actress's rise to fame has been nothing short of meteoric, with her bold move to LA at just 18 years old paying off in a big way. But Simone reveals that it wasn't always easy, admitting that she took on modeling jobs to make ends meet and got her start in acting through those gigs.

"I was quite reckless of me," she laughs about her decision to leave her comfort zone behind. "There wasn't that safety bubble of graduating from drama school, getting an agent, doing it the normal way. I was really scrappy. Since I was little, if I wanted something, I would do anything I could to get it."

Gracing Harper's Bazaar's digital cover, Simone looked sensational in an array of chic looks, including an oversized baby pink dressing gown

And despite a recent setback when she was cut from the Brad Pitt-fronted film, Simone is still reeling from the experience. "I turned out for the European premiere, and I have to say, it was a weird feeling," she admits. "But I'm not one to dwell on things that are outside of my control."

As she basks in the glow of her recent success, Simone is more focused than ever on her music career, with her upcoming album shaping up to be a deeply personal and emotional release.

"It's all about vulnerability," she promises. "I've always said that I'm not afraid to get weird, and this album is no exception. It's going to be a wild ride."

But in an accompanying interview, Simone got very candid about how being catapulted into the public eye affected her mental well-being

With her star continuing to rise, Simone Ashley is proving herself to be one of the most exciting and unpredictable young talents in Hollywood. And as she navigates the ups and downs of fame, it's clear that she's not afraid to get real – or raw.

"I've reached a point where I just don't care as much," she confesses. "And that's when you know you're doing something right."
