Shock Claim: Accused Murderer of 'King of the Hill' Actor Denies Charges
SHOCKING MURDER ROCKS SAN ANTONIO: King of the Hill Voice Actor Jonathan Joss Brutally Slayed
In a horrific and senseless act of violence, Jonathan Joss, the voice actor behind beloved animated series King of the Hill's John Redcorn, was brutally murdered in his hometown of San Antonio. The shocking news has left fans reeling, and now his husband is speaking out about the devastating loss.
According to authorities, Sigfredo "Freddy" Ceja Alvarez, the man accused of Joss' murder, claims he's innocent of the crime. His defense lawyer, Nico LaHood, vehemently denied allegations that the attack was a hate crime fueled by Joss' sexuality. Instead, LaHood painted his client as a victim of ongoing torment in the neighborhood, where Joss and his husband had previously reported numerous threats and harassment.
"This accusation of a hate crime is completely antithetical to his character," LaHood told KSAT 12. "This has nothing to do with sexual orientation. This has to do with a very long time of torment in that neighborhood."
But Joss' husband, Tristan Kern de Gonzales, paints a starkly different picture. In a heart-wrenching Facebook post, de Gonzales described the attack as a violent and homophobic act that took his beloved husband's life.
"My husband Jonathan Joss and I were involved in a shooting while checking the mail at the site of our former home," de Gonzales wrote. "We had been grieving the loss of our beloved pet when the violence was inflicted upon us."
De Gonzales revealed that they had reported numerous threats to law enforcement, but nothing was done to address the situation. He and Joss suffered constant harassment from openly homophobic residents in the area who made it clear they did not accept their relationship.
"It's heartbreaking to think about the pain and suffering Jonathan endured," de Gonzales said. "But I want everyone to remember the joy and love he brought to our lives."
The couple had wed just this past February on Valentine's Day, and Joss' murder has left them reeling. De Gonzales remembered his husband as a loving partner who gave him more love in their time together than most people ever get.
"We were newlyweds," de Gonzales said. "We were in the process of looking for a trailer and planning our future."
As news of Joss' murder spread, fans and colleagues alike paid tribute to the beloved voice actor. Nick Offerman, his Parks And Recreation co-star, remembered Joss as a talented artist who brought joy to countless lives.
Joss provided vocals for John Redcorn on King of the Hill between seasons two and 13, appearing in a total of 34 episodes. The character was initially voiced by actor Victor Aaron, who tragically passed away in a car accident in September 1996.
As the investigation into Joss' murder continues, fans are left to process the shocking loss of a talented individual whose legacy will live on through his work.
