Sherri Shepherd Unveils Mystery Actress: Was It Nia Long?
BROADWAY BRAWL EXPOSED: Sherri Shepherd Claims Nia Long Physically Confronted Her Over Alleged "Shady" Comments
The drama-filled world of Broadway just got a whole lot juicier! Comedian and actress Sherri Shepherd has finally revealed the identity of the actress who allegedly accosted her at the opening night performance of Othello in March. And, honey, it's none other than veteran actress Nia Long!
In a bombshell interview with The Breakfast Club, Shepherd, 58, claimed that Long, 54, grabbed her arm and whipped her around to confront her over "shady" comments she said she had made about her. But what really sets tongues wagging is the fact that this alleged altercation took place in front of a star-studded audience, including Jennifer Lopez and Angela Bassett!
Shepherd initially claimed on her eponymous daytime talk show back in March that an "unnamed celebrity" was responsible for the altercation. However, she's now come clean about Long being the perpetrator. And, sweetheart, it seems like this drama has been a long time brewing!
According to Shepherd, Long must have gotten her mixed up with someone else because she had only ever spoken out about Long's 2022 scandal involving her then-fiancé Ime Udoka, who was embroiled in an affair with a Celtics employee. "The only time I've ever talked about Nia is when she went through that infidelity mess," Shepherd explained.
But what really gets our attention is the fact that Shepherd claims Long not only physically confronted her but also allegedly walked away without resolving their differences. "You don't get to pull me and turn me around like we're in a doggone cartoon and then walk away!" Shepherd exclaimed.
When asked why she waited three months to reveal Long's identity, Shepherd replied that it was because the other stars at the opening night made it difficult for her to single out any one person. But what she didn't mention is that this drama has been great material for her stand-up comedy routines!
"I mean, everything that happens in my life is material for me," Shepherd quipped. "And my stage, my comedy stage, is the talk show!" She added that making public claims about Long's behavior also benefited her professionally.
Representatives for both Long and Shepherd have yet to respond to TheScholarlyNote.com's request for comment. But one thing's for sure - this drama has everyone talking!
Long, a mom of two, shares a 13-year-old son with her ex Udoka, while she also has a 24-year-old son from her previous relationship with actor Massai Z Dorsey. And let's not forget the public support she received from celebrity friends Snoop Dogg, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Jemele Hill during that scandal.
But what about now? Will Long speak out about this alleged altercation, or will Shepherd take it to the next level by inviting her on The Sherri Shepherd Show to discuss their differences? One thing's for sure - we'll be keeping a close eye on these two ladies!
As for Shepherd, she's made it clear that she doesn't harbor any ill feelings towards Long. "I'm cool," she said with a smile. "It's done." But what about you, dear readers? What do you think happened between these two Broadway queens? Do share your thoughts in the comments below!
