In a jaw-dropping announcement, former Love Island contestant Shaughna Phillips has stunned her fans with news that she is expecting her second child! The reality TV star took to Instagram to share the exciting news, along with a heartwarming clip of herself taking a pregnancy test and showcasing her growing baby bump.
But that's not all - Shaughna also shared an adorable video of her two-year-old daughter Lucia rocking a "Big Sis" t-shirt, hinting at the arrival of her new little sibling. And in a surprising twist, she didn't reveal who the father of the new baby is, simply captioning the post: "Adding a little more love to our family..."
Shaughna's announcement comes as a surprise, especially considering her tumultuous past with her daughter Lucia's father, Billy Webb, 29. In April 2023, Shaughna gave birth to Lucia, and in August of that year, Billy was sentenced to nine years in prison for his involvement in a cocaine trafficking ring.
However, in November, Billy was released from prison after serving only 12 months of his sentence, allowing the family to reunite. In a candid conversation on her podcast Oh, Baby with Shaughna and Holly, the star opened up about the challenges she faced as a single mother, including struggling to come to terms with her partner's imprisonment.
"I mean, before I even answer this question, I want to just put it out there that you can judge me all you want, but please don't let me know, because I feel like unless you've been in this position you can't really have an opinion on it," Shaughna confessed. "Because before I was in this position, before I had a baby, if you had asked me would I ever, ever take my child into a prison, the answer would be absolutely not."
Despite the challenges she faced as a single mother, Shaughna has been open about her experiences and has used her platform to raise awareness about the importance of co-parenting. In an interview with thescholarlynote.com, she revealed that she had struggled raising Lucia on her own, saying: "Having a newborn baby, hormones are all over the place and I was just struggling. Anyone who's had kids they'll probably say that when they're a newborn it's easiest because they just lie there and need to be fed but as they get older and they can talk back and say no... It's exhausting."
Shaughna's weight gain during her pregnancy with Lucia was also a topic of discussion, with the star admitting that she had struggled to maintain a healthy diet while juggling motherhood. "I wasn't eating well and I realised if I wouldn't let Lucia eat that then why am I?" she confessed.
The reality TV star has been open about her struggles with her health, revealing in an Instagram post earlier this year that she was left "shaken to her core" after visiting her GP for a health check. The doctor's diagnosis revealed that Shaughna had developed visceral fat around her main organs, a condition that can increase the risk of serious health problems such as heart attacks, diabetes, and certain cancers.
Despite these challenges, Shaughna has shown remarkable resilience and determination to prioritize her health and well-being. And now, with her second pregnancy on the horizon, fans are eager to see what the future holds for this strong and inspiring mother-of-two!
