Selena Gomez & Catherine Zeta-Jones to Shine at the 77th Emmy Awards!

An Emmy statue appears on the stage for the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards red carpet rollout on Thursday, September 11, 2025, in Los Angeles

THE EMMY'S ARE COMING! Get Ready for a Night of Scandal, Drama, and Possibly Some Real Awards

It's that time of year again - Emmy season is upon us! The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards are just around the corner, and we've got the scoop on who's nominated, who's winning, and who might just be getting fired (cough, Late Show with Stephen Colbert, cough).

Let's start with the big one: Severance. This Apple TV+ hit is nominated for a whopping 27 awards, including Best Drama Series. It's already won six Creative Arts Emmy Awards, but we're predicting it'll take home even more. The show's star-studded cast includes Adam Scott and Britt Lower, both of whom are up for their first Emmys.

But Severance isn't the only show getting buzz. HBO's hit drama series The Pitt has also been nominated in the Best Drama Series category, with Noah Wyle, a seasoned Emmy nominee, vying for his first win. Will he finally take home that trophy?

And then there's The Studio, Seth Rogen's new comedy series on Apple TV+. With 23 nominations and already having won nine Creative Arts Emmys, it's looking like this show is the one to beat in the comedy category.

THE DRAMA!

But not everyone is happy with the nominees. Insiders are whispering that The Late Show with Stephen Colbert might just win Best Talk Series as a sort of protest vote after being canceled by CBS. And why did they cancel it, you ask? Well, let's just say it had something to do with President Donald Trump and a rather...interesting settlement between the president and Paramount.

RED CARPET READY!

Speaking of the red carpet, we've got the scoop on who's walking the Walk of Fame this year. E! will be hosting live coverage starting at 6 PM ET, while Entertainment Tonight takes over at 7 PM ET. People magazine and Entertainment Weekly will also have their own live red carpet shows on social media.

Catherine Zeta-Jones, Michael Douglas and Carys Zeta Douglas attend the opening ceremony gala dinner at the 76th annual Cannes film festival in 2023

And if you can't make it to LA, don't worry - The Associated Press will be streaming a slightly delayed feed of celebrity arrivals and interviews on YouTube starting at 5 PM ET.

THE BIGGEST NOMINATIONS

Here are the top nominations in each category:

Sofia Vergara, seen on Saturday evening in Las Vegas, will be at the ceremony as well

  • Best Drama Series: Severance, The Pitt, Andor, The White Lotus
  • Best Limited or Anthology Series: Adolescence, Black Mirror, Dying For Sex, The Penguin
  • Best Actor in a Drama Series: Noah Wyle (The Pitt), Adam Scott (Severance)
  • Best Actress in a Drama Series: Kathy Bates (Matlock), Jean Smart (Hacks)

THE BIGGEST STORIES

We've got the scoop on some of the biggest stories in TV this year. Colin Farrell is nominated for his lead role in The Penguin, while Cristin Milioti is up for her supporting role as his nemesis.

But what about Netflix's Adolescence? This show has been making waves with its unique storytelling and 15-year-old star Owen Cooper, who could become the youngest Emmy winner in over 40 years!

AND THE WINNERS ARE...

The question on everyone's mind: who will take home the top prizes? We've got our fingers crossed for Severance, but The Pitt is also a strong contender. Will Noah Wyle finally get his moment in the spotlight?

Stay tuned to find out who'll be taking home those coveted Emmy statues!

THE COMEDY SHOWDOWN

The comedy categories are heating up with shows like Abbott Elementary, Hacks, and The Bear vying for top honors.

But what about The Studio? Seth Rogen's new series has already won nine Creative Arts Emmys and is looking like a shoo-in for the comedy category. Will it finally take home that elusive 11th Emmy win?

THE FINAL COUNTDOWN

Get ready for a night of glamour, excitement, and possibly some real drama (see what we did there?). The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards will be live on CBS at 8 PM ET and 5 PM PT. Don't miss it!
