Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost Shine at Rare Screening of 'Eleanor the Great'

Scarlett Johansson made a rare appearance with her husband Colin Jost at screening of her directorial debut in New York on Wednesday

SCARLETT JOHANSSON STEALS THE SPOTLIGHT AT HER DIRECTORIAL DEBUT, WHILE HER HUSBAND COLIN JOST'S SNL FUTURE IS LEFT UP IN THE AIR

It was a rare and glamorous appearance for Scarlett Johansson as she walked the red carpet with her husband Colin Jost at the screening of her directorial debut, Eleanor the Great, in New York on Wednesday. The 40-year-old actress-turned-filmmaker looked absolutely stunning in a bespoke white blazer that featured dramatic shoulder pads and matching wide leg trousers, which perfectly accentuated her toned physique.

But what really caught our attention was the chemistry between the power couple, who beamed with joy as they posed for photos together. It's no secret that Colin Jost has been a huge support system for Johansson throughout her career, and it's clear that their love for each other is only growing stronger with each passing day.

As we all know, Scarlett Johansson has always been a talented actress, but now she's also proven herself to be a capable director. Her film, Eleanor the Great, premiered at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in May, where it received a well-deserved five-minute standing ovation from the crowds. The drama follows June Squibb as she navigates a series of complex relationships and lies after accidentally sitting in on a gathering for Holocaust survivors.

But what's even more impressive is that Johansson chose not to appear in her own film, instead opting to stay behind the camera and bring her unique vision to life. And judging by the reviews, it seems like it was a bold move that paid off – despite earning a mixed 64 percent rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

As for Colin Jost's future with Saturday Night Live (SNL), it seems like his status is still up in the air. While speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Johansson revealed that her husband is "going back to work," but we can't help but wonder what this means for his role on the show. After all, four of his costars – Heidi Gardner, Michael Longfellow, Devon Walker, and Emil Wakim – won't be returning for season 51.

Scarlett looked as chic as ever in a white blazer that featured dramatic shoulder pads and matching wide leg trousers

But don't worry, SNL fans! Colin Jost is expected to return to the show as a writer and Weekend Update anchor, a role he's held since 2005. And if you're wondering what Johansson thinks about her husband's return to SNL, she had some choice words: "I think that's basically the MO over at 30 Rock, is that everything is like moments before... It's usually like Friday night before the Saturday show."

But Johansson wasn't just talking about her husband's career – she was also dropping hints about her own future projects. When asked if she'd be back for the raunchy series of swapped jokes that anchors usually do to end the season, she replied: "I think that's basically the MO over at 30 Rock... I don't know what the plans are."

And speaking of future projects, Johansson has a sweet surprise in store for her fans. She's been pushing for June Squibb, who stars as Eleanor Morgenstein in Eleanor the Great, to host SNL this season – and we couldn't agree more! At 95 years young, Squibb would be by far the oldest person to have ever hosted the series, breaking the record held by the late Betty White.

But will she get the call? Only time will tell, but according to Johansson, Squibb is "100 percent" game for hosting SNL if she gets the chance. And when asked about her past stint as a cabaret show host in New York, Squibb quipped: "Oh yes, of course. I love that show. I watch it all the time... It was a little comedy thing."

So there you have it – Scarlett Johansson is making waves with her directorial debut and her husband Colin Jost's SNL future is still up in the air. But one thing's for sure: these two are a power couple we can't take our eyes off of.
