Sarah Michelle Gellar's Aussie Adventures: Why Bondi Isn't Her Spot

Sarah Michelle Gellar has stunned fans of the cult horror hit I Know What You Did Last Summer by returning for a surprise cameo in the highly-anticipated reboot

Sarah Michelle Gellar Stuns Fans with Jaw-Dropping Cameo in I Know What You Did Last Summer Reboot

In a move that has left fans of the cult horror hit I Know What You Did Last Summer reeling, Sarah Michelle Gellar has made a shocking return to the franchise. The actress, who played the iconic character Helen Shivers in the original 1997 film, has stunned audiences with a surprise cameo in the highly-anticipated reboot.

Gellar's involvement in the latest installment of the slasher flick was kept tightly under wraps during filming last year, with the actress and her husband Freddie Prinze Jr. - also a star of the original film - jetting off to Australia to bring the horror back to life.

Sarah said the couple loved Australia so much they wouldn't discount putting down roots in Sydney

But when Daily Mail Australia caught up with Gellar while she was filming an exclusive campaign for Uber One, she revealed that she never actually lied about being involved in the movie. Instead, she chose her words wisely, telling us: "I never said I wasn't going to be in the movie. All I ever said was I was dead."

A Sydney Girl at Heart

Gellar's time Down Under during filming was a whirlwind of activity, with the actress and her family settling into local life in Bondi - or not, as it turns out. "No, no. Bondi is great to eat but it's too crowded. You won't love it," Gellar warned us, revealing that she much preferred the quieter neighbouring suburbs like Double Bay or Rose Rose.

During their stay, Sarah and her family visited Taronga Zoo, Sea Life Aquarium and even did the Sydney Bridge climb

When asked what drew her to these areas, Gellar gushed about the stunning beaches and top-notch coffee spots. "I'm definitely a Sydney girl," she declared, clearly smitten with the Australian city.

Tim Tam Girl

But despite her love for Sydney, Gellar's suitcase was filled with one iconic Aussie staple - Tim Tams. "I am a Tim Tam girl," she confessed, revealing that she was worried about customs when heading home to LA with her beloved biscuits.

Her involvement in the latest instalment came as a surprise to fans as her popular character Helen Shivers was killed off in the 1997 hit

It was during her stay in Sydney that the idea of an Uber One partnership was born. The exclusive membership offers savings on Uber rides and Eats, as well as other perks like big savings at the cinema. Gellar explained: "We were living in Rose Bay and we didn't have a car, we literally Ubered everywhere and ordered Uber Eats constantly."

A Killer Cameo

In a promotional clip for Uber One, Gellar reunites with the murderous fisherman villain from I Know What You Did Last Summer - in a rather terrifying encounter. She demonstrates what she could have "saved last summer" with Uber One - a somewhat frightening sum.

As Uber One members can now watch Sarah in the I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot at Hoyts, they'll be treated to great perks like $12.50 general admission tickets, $27.50 HOYTS LUX tickets and free popcorn refills.
