Sarah Jessica Parker's 'Word Salad' Answer Sparks Fan Fury Over SATC Reboot's End

Sarah Jessica Parker has been slammed by fans over her rambling response to why And Just Like That... will end after three seasons - seen as Carrie Bradshaw in the show

SJP's Epic Fail: Fans Slam Sarah Jessica Parker for Incoherent Response on Why And Just Like That... is Ending

The drama surrounding the Sex and the City reboot, And Just Like That..., just got even juicier! The show has been a hot mess from day one, with fans trashing its woke nonsense, cringeworthy plotlines, and caricature characters. But nothing could have prepared them for Sarah Jessica Parker's rambling response to why the show is ending after three seasons.

At a recent event, SJP, 60, spoke about the finale of And Just Like That... and left fans utterly baffled. In a video captured by InStyle, she said: "I've learned not to say goodbye but farewell, there's a distinction right? You know you ride that decision and it's hard to be definitive and to say it and it really makes no sense to a lot of people which I understand, why would you stop doing something that's successful and that is successful in that moment?"

The show - which saw Parker , Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis reprise their SATC roles as Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbes and Charlotte York - has been branded ' woke ', 'awful' and 'cringeworthy' since its debut in 2021.

Fans were left scratching their heads, wondering what exactly SJP was trying to say. One fan wrote: "This interview is just like the AJLT reboot: painful and unnecessary! (cue SATC movie). No idea what she said in that word salad garbage." Another fan chimed in: "AJLT was SO disrespectful to the fans with the sloppy writing, gaslighting the original series, bizarre plot lines, and caricature characters. And the salt on the wound was the bad fashion/costuming. Calling it 'successful' is delusional."

It seems like SJP's words were lost in translation, but one thing is certain - the show has been a disaster from day one. The original series ran from 1998-2004 and was a beloved favorite among fans. But And Just Like That... has been a total mess, with its woke nonsense and poor writing driving fans away.

The show's writers seemed to be trying to tick every box on the diversity and inclusion list, but ended up alienating the very people they were trying to appeal to. Miranda, one of the main characters, cheated on her husband Steve with non-binary comic Che Diaz, while Carrie bizarrely claimed that Mr. Big was a "mistake" and agreed to take a five-year break from her romance with Aidan Shaw.

When asked if this will indeed be the final time fans see Carrie Bradshaw's story on screen, Parker said in a video captured by InStyle: 'I have learned not to say goodbye but farewell, there's a distinction right? 'You know you ride that decision and its hard to be definitive'

The show's viewership has tumbled in its third season, but SJP is still trying to spin it as a success. In an interview with TheScholarlyNote.com, she said: "I think it's because of the profound affection for the job and for the show which is where Michael [Patrick King] and I were all those years ago when we stopped shooting the Sex and the City television series." Yeah, right!

The real reason And Just Like That... is ending is probably due to its tanking ratings and the backlash from fans. But SJP's response only adds fuel to the fire. Fans are still reeling from her incoherent words, with one fan writing: "Well that was some word salad that didn’t illuminate much of anything."

But not all fans were disappointed by SJP's response. One fan wrote: "I love her. She’s always so thoughtful in her answers. And I believe she really loves Carrie and the show, and the actors, and tries to make the best decisions." Aww, bless their heart!

Fans were left baffled by the 'word salad' response

The drama surrounding And Just Like That... is far from over. The show's writers are still trying to justify its existence, but it's clear that fans have lost all patience with this woke nonsense. It's time for SJP and co-creator Michael Patrick King to face the music - the show has been a disaster, and it's time to move on.

In related news, Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones in the original series, still hasn't returned for And Just Like That... after years of bad blood with her castmates. And let's not forget about Chris Noth, who was edited out of the show after being accused of sexual abuse by four women. Yeah, it's been a wild ride!

As for SJP's response, fans are still trying to decipher what she said. One fan wrote: "I’ve had to rewatch SATC just to remind myself how much I loved the original series and wipe away the trite drivel that is AJLT." Ouch! Looks like And Just Like That... has finally met its match.

In a statement, Michael Patrick King tried to spin the show's ending as a positive: "And just like that… the ongoing storytelling of the Sex and the City universe is coming to an end. While I was writing the last episode of And Just Like That… season 3, it became clear to me that this might be a wonderful place to stop." Yeah, right!

But don't worry, fans - SJP has already hinted at more SATC movies in the works. In an interview with TheScholarlyNote.com, she said: "I wouldn’t have said back then that we would do a couple of movies and that four years ago or five years that Michael and I would get on the phone and say hmmm and he would feel the same... so who knows?" Uh-huh!

The original show ran from 1998-2004 with two films in 2008 and 2010. But And Just Like That... has been a total mess, with its woke nonsense and poor writing driving fans away. The show's writers seem to be trying to tick every box on the diversity and inclusion list, but ended up alienating the very people they were trying to appeal to.

The final episode of And Just Like That... will air this Thursday, marking the end of an era for fans. But don't worry - SJP has already hinted at more SATC movies in the works. So, what's next for the Sex and the City franchise? Only time will tell!
