Sabrina Carpenter Struts Her Stuff for Vogue Italia, Reveals the Secrets Behind Her Glamourous Persona

In a stunning spread for the latest issue of Vogue Italia, Sabrina Carpenter proves she's still got it - and then some! The 26-year-old songstress has been turning heads with her sizzling photoshoot, which sees her channeling her inner Brigitte Bardot in a tribute to the classic blonde bombshells of the 1960s. We've got the exclusive scoop on how Sabrina prepared for the shoot, what she really thinks about fame, and why she's taking a step back from the spotlight to focus on herself.

Shot by the legendary Steven Meisel (who's no stranger to making magic happen behind the lens), Carpenter's Vogue Italia spread is an ode to old-school glamour. "I had to twist into a pretzel all day," Sabrina reveals with a laugh, "but it was worth it for this incredible opportunity." And what's behind her look? "They initially told me they wanted something natural and effortless, but I showed up with a smoky eye and big hair, and I was like, 'This is the way I want to be right now'."

The singer said she had to twist into a 'pretzel' for the shoot where she was styled to resemble 1960s actress Brigitte Bardot. 'It looked kind of glamour and '60s and black-and-white and really elegant and moody and Brigitte Bardot and very sexy and so it seems quite exciting to me,' she shared

Inspired by the classic style of 1960s German girls (think Brigitte Bardot meets Audrey Hepburn), Carpenter's shoot is all about sophistication, elegance, and a healthy dose of sex appeal. "I feel like I was in my element," she admits. "The way they dressed me up, with the moody lighting and black-and-white aesthetic... it just felt really special." And that big hair? "It was so much fun to play around with," Sabrina gushes. "I love experimenting with different looks and styles - it's like a game for me."

But beneath the glamour and glitz, Carpenter is still very much a real person, struggling to navigate the ups and downs of fame. "I feel like I'm constantly changing as a person," she reflects. "What I feel today will be completely different in a month." This constant evolution can be overwhelming at times, but Sabrina has found her own way to cope - laughter! "Humor is my saving grace," she admits. "It's like my filter for dealing with all the craziness that comes with fame."

And it's not just her quick wit and sarcasm (which she inherited from her parents) that keeps her grounded; Carpenter credits her friends, team, and even her fans for keeping her real. "They're the ones who help me stay honest in a world where it's easy to get caught up in all the drama," she says sincerely. "And I love them for that."

In her interview she also discussed dealing with mega fame. 'I feel like I'm constantly changing as a person... what I feel today will be very different in a month,' she reflected

As Sabrina herself revealed, this photoshoot is just one part of a larger journey - one that involves introspection, self-discovery, and taking things at her own pace. "I'm doing a lot of reflection right now," she shares with Vogue Italia. "I want to do things with intention, not just for the sake of doing them." This newfound focus on herself has even inspired Carpenter to pick up journaling again - something she hadn't done in years! "It's funny how life comes full circle sometimes," Sabrina laughs.

When she's not strutting her stuff on a photoshoot or belting out hits like "Why" and "Paris", Carpenter loves nothing more than spending time at home, surrounded by nature. "I do my best thinking outside," she admits, revealing that even when the bugs come out in force, she won't let them bug her (pun intended!). With a walk around the block to clear her head, Sabrina is ready to tackle whatever comes next - whether it's her music, her fans, or just life itself.

So what does the future hold for this talented young star? Stay tuned to find out!

She added laughing gets her through most issues. 'All my life, I thought that humor was just that. Besides saving me, this kind of wit was a filter that ensured my protection for the future,' she admitted. Carpenter at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards on September 7 in New York
