Sabrina Carpenter Clashes with Fan Over 'Lolita' Photo Comparison
SCANDALOUS SABRINA!
Sabrina Carpenter, 26, is firing back at a fan who claimed her recent W magazine spread was inspired by the controversial film Lolita!
The pop star, known for her provocative performances and steamy music videos, has been under fire since announcing her latest album, Man's Best Friend. But when a TikTok user compared one of Sabrina's photos to a still from Jeremy Irons' 1997 thriller, she was having NONE of it!
In the W magazine spread, Sabrina is seen lounging in the grass under a sprinkler, which bears an uncanny resemblance to Dominique Swain's iconic pose in Lolita. But Sabrina has shut down any comparisons, insisting that she's never even SEEN the film!
"I've never seen this movie," Sabrina wrote in the comments section. "It's never been on my mood board and never would be." But the fan wasn't convinced, doubling down with a snarky comment: '"fully grown but i look like a niña," [yeah] sure.'"
Sabrina clapped back with some sass of her own! Remember when she performed at Rolling Stone's July/August issue cover shoot in July? She went NAKED for the cameras, posing on her knees while sporting thigh-high white hosiery and platinum blonde extensions. It was a truly UNFORGETTABLE moment!
But Sabrina's bold performances aren't without controversy. Her Short n' Sweet Tour has been making waves with its NSFW displays and cheeky lyrics - and she's not afraid to own it! In an interview with thescholarlynote.com, Sabrina addressed the haters: "It’s always so funny to me when people complain," she said. "They’re like, "All she does is sing about this." But those are the songs that you’ve made popular. Clearly you love sex. You’re obsessed with it."
Sabrina's no stranger to ruffling feathers, but we have to admit - her confidence and sass are totally intoxicating! What do you think, scholastic readers? Should Sabrina be praised for her bold performances or criticized for her provocative lyrics?
