Royal Recognition: Princess Kate's Sweet Note to Bobbi Brown After Wedding

Bobbi Brown said that Hannah Martins completed the Princess of Wales's wedding day makeup look in April 2011 (pictured) - but she received a special note following the big day

Bobbi Brown Spills Tea on Kate Middleton's Wedding Day Makeup

In a shocking revelation, makeup mogul Bobbi Brown has finally come clean about who was behind Kate Middleton's stunning wedding day look back in 2011. And, honey, it wasn't the Duchess herself!

The Princess of Wales has been known to slay the red carpet with her effortless elegance, and fans have often wondered if she was responsible for her own makeup looks. But, according to Bobbi Brown, that simply isn't true.

The makeup mogul (pictured), 68, from Chicago said she has hung the special note in her office

Appearing on the popular podcast Breaking Beauty alongside hosts Carlene Higgins and Jill Dunn, Bobbi, 68, revealed that one of her artists, Hannah Martin, created Kate's magical look - all while using products from her eponymous brand.

The Royal Treatment

When asked about the rumors surrounding Kate's wedding day makeup, Bobbi explained, "I did not do her makeup. I wish I did! It was one of my artists, Hannah Martin, who's become quite a sensation in the UK." And it seems that Hannah's work caught the eye of Kate's team, as well.

Bobbi went on to reveal that she received a heartfelt note from one of Kate's employees after the wedding, expressing their gratitude for Bobbi's products. "I got a note though, that I have hanging now in my office, not from Kate herself, but from the person who wrote her letters saying how much they appreciated the makeup," she shared.

The Rumors Were True (Sort Of)

Co-host Jill questioned Bobbi about the rumors of Kate doing her own makeup on her wedding day, and Bobbi responded, "But at the time, in the press, we were led to believe that she had done her own makeup." However, it seems that wasn't entirely accurate.

As Bobbi explained, "No, Hannah did her makeup. Hannah gave me some information that I should set my alarm and watch... And we were texting back and forth, and she's like, 'Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god'."

A Lesson in Humility

When asked why Bobbi's company didn't claim Kate as a client at the time, she revealed, "We didn't as a company use it, no one did that back then. It wasn't the right thing to do." And we can't help but agree with her.

It seems that even in the world of high-stakes beauty and makeup, sometimes humility is the greatest virtue of all.

Real Beauty: Not Just for the A-List

Bobbi Brown has built a career on promoting real, natural beauty - and it's not just about looking good for the cameras. In an episode of LYMA's Powerful Women YouTube series, she revealed why she refuses to alter her face with Botox or fillers.

As Bobbi explained, "It's amazing what plastic surgery can do, but I think, in general, why change the shape and size of your lips, for example, because someone else has fuller lips it's not necessarily going to look right on you." And let's be real - there's nothing more beautiful than embracing our unique features.

The Power of Self-Care

Bobbi's philosophy is centered around enhancing natural beauty rather than masking it. And she believes that exercise plays a huge role in maintaining a youthful glow. "By moving my body like a younger person, my mind works like a younger person," she shared.

When asked about her secret to looking and feeling great at 68, Bobbi revealed, "I think the most powerful thing I do every day is exercise with weight-lifting, Pilates, walking and dance." And we can't help but take notes!

From Estee Lauder to Jones Road

After selling her original eponymous cosmetics business to Estee Lauder in 1995, Bobbi went on to found a new line of cosmetics, Jones Road, in 2020. And it seems that Kate Middleton is a fan - she's been spotted wearing one of the brand's Luxe Lipstick shades, Sandwash Pink.

The Future of Beauty

When asked about the impact of celebrity aesthetics on young people, Bobbi shared her thoughts: "Real beauty is... the women I see on the street or in the store - they're real. They're not spending six hours in the gym, two hours with a makeup artist every day or getting a blow out every day."

And we couldn't agree more! Real beauty is about embracing our unique features and not trying to change who we are to fit someone else's standards.

A Parting Thought from Bobbi Brown

As we close this article, Bobbi shared one final thought on the "biggest mistake midlife women make with their makeup". "I think that people don't realise that makeup is really there to make you look better not worse, and a lot of traditional makeup is just not very flattering on women of a certain age."

And with that, we can't help but thank Bobbi Brown for her wisdom and dedication to promoting real beauty.
