Rosie O'Donnell's Fury: ABC 'Preparing to Cancel The View' Over Bias Claims

Rosie O'Donnell made the remarks in a pointed post to TikTok Wednesday where she said ABC was 'reviewing the [show's] liberal bias'

ROSIE O'DONNELL ROARS BACK INTO THE SPOTLIGHT WITH A SCATHING TIKTOK POST, CLAIMING ABC IS REVIEWING 'THE VIEW' FOR "LIBERAL BIAS"... BUT IS IT JUST A RED HERRING TO SILENCE HER?

In a shocking move that's got everyone in the TV industry talking, former host of The View Rosie O'Donnell is warning that her old network may be planning to axe the daytime opinion program due to its alleged "liberal bias." But what's really going on behind closed doors?

According to O'Donnell, ABC is secretly reviewing The View for its liberal leanings, citing a recent Media Research Center study that found 102 liberal-leaning guests have appeared on the show this year, while not a single conservative has been invited to discuss politics. Sounds like a clear case of bias, right? Not according to O'Donnell, who claims her old network is just trying to silence her and other outspoken liberals.

Days before, a Media Research Center study determined the show had welcomed 102 liberal-leaning guests in 2025 and not a single conservative. The results pertained only to guests who discussed politics

In a pointed post to TikTok on Wednesday, O'Donnell fired back at ABC's alleged review, saying "This isn't about bias - it's about obedience." She went on to accuse the network of trying to scrub any program that doesn't align with Trumpism, implying that The View is being targeted because it's a little too truth-telling for the conservative crowd. "You have to control what people see, what they hear, what they think," she wrote, in a veiled swipe at the Trump administration.

But what's really behind ABC's alleged review of The View? Sources close to the network claim that while the show does tend to lean liberal, it's not as one-sided as O'Donnell makes out. "Without going into detail about the show's booking process, there is wide outreach across the aisle," said a source, hinting that ABC may be trying to appease both liberal and conservative viewers.

O'Donnell, 63, has a long history with The View, having hosted the show from 2006 to 2007. Her tenure was marked by on-air feuds with Donald Trump, who she had previously clashed with over his treatment of women during her time on the show. After leaving the network, O'Donnell returned briefly in 2014 before departing for good.

O'Donnel manned The View as it moderator from 2006 to 2007. The brief tenure was marred by the first of several feuds with the future president, as well as frequent on-air arguments about the Iraq War. She returned in 2014 before leaving again after just five months

But what's really got O'Donnell fired up is her longtime feud with Trump himself. The two have been at odds since the early 2000s, when Trump famously referred to O'Donnell as a "total disaster" and a "failed performer." In response, O'Donnell tweeted, "Try explaining that to your kids." The Twitter exchange has become infamous in pop culture circles, with many seeing it as a precursor to Trump's subsequent attacks on women during his presidential campaign.

And now, O'Donnell is accusing ABC of being complicit in Trump's efforts to silence critics. In another post to TikTok, she accused both ABC and CBS of "capitulating" to Trump through their respective lawsuit settlements, one of which involved on-air comments from George Stephanopoulos and the other a 60 Minutes interview.

"It's not about bias - it's about obedience," O'Donnell wrote in her Wednesday post. "Silence anything that doesn't praise the orange messiah and his golden escalator of lies." She went on to claim, "We are in a dictatorship with good lighting," in a scathing critique of Trump's presidency.

The scholarlynote.com reached out to ABC for comment but did not receive an immediate response. One thing is clear: Rosie O'Donnell is back in the spotlight, and she's not going down without a fight.

When They Cancel The View - Who's Left To Say "This Is Insane"?

O'Donnell's TikTok posts have left many wondering what's next for The View, if indeed it will be canceled. But one thing's for sure: Rosie O'Donnell is not going quietly into the night. As she so aptly put it in her final post on Wednesday, "The most dangerous sound in the world is a woman who knows that she's talking about - and refuses to stop."

A Question of Balance

So what does this mean for viewers? Will The View be silenced due to its alleged liberal bias, or will ABC find a way to appease both sides? As O'Donnell so astutely pointed out in her TikTok post, "When they cancel The View - who's gonna be left to say 'This is insane'?" Only time will tell.

The scholarlynote.com will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available. Stay tuned for further developments!
