Rock Star Shock: Billy Idol Discovers Secret Love Child Amidst a 'Million' Past Encounters

Billy Idol has revealed he wasn't particularly shocked to have learned he fathered a secret love child due to his particularly rock 'n' roll sex life

Rock 'n' Roll Rebel Exposed: Billy Idol's Secret Love Child Revealed

Get ready for a juicy scoop from the world of rock music! Legendary rocker Billy Idol has been caught with his pants down, and we're not just talking about his signature ripped jeans. The 69-year-old bad boy of rock music has revealed that he fathered a secret love child, born in 1985 during his Rebel Hearts tour.

The bombshell revelation comes from a new documentary about Idol's life, titled "Billy Idol Should Be Dead," which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. According to sources close to the rocker, Idol was initially taken aback by the news of his third child, but he soon came to terms with it, shrugging off the idea of having fathered a secret son as just another consequence of his wild rock 'n' roll lifestyle.

A new documentary about Idol reveals that in 2023, the rock star, 69, learned about the existence of a son who was conceived during his Rebel Hearts tour in 1985 after results from his daughter's DNA test indicated she had a half-brother

"I guess I should have known," Idol chuckled in an interview with The i Paper. "We were going around in the 80s and 70s, just having knockdown, drag-out sex with a million people you didn’t know. A lot of people in the rock world got children beyond their usual relationships." He laughed at the thought of potentially having more kids out there: "I think we would know about them now if there were."

But how did this secret child come to light? Well, it was Idol's own daughter Bonnie Blue who inadvertently discovered her half-brother after taking a DNA test through 23 and Me. It turned out that she had a sibling, Brand Broad, who was born in New York City in 1985.

Broad is now an adult living in New York with his wife and two kids. Idol has since met his son and even introduced him to the world on Instagram in 2023, captioning a photo of them together: "Had a lovely visit from my granddaughter McKenzie backstage at the kings theatre yesterday... also with my son @brantnorthridgebroad... also McKenzie started school recently-BFI."

This revelation comes as no surprise to those familiar with Idol's checkered past. The rocker has been open about his struggles with addiction, including heroin, pot, opium, and a booze habit that nearly killed him in 1994 when he collapsed outside an LA club due to an overdose.

But it wasn't until he hit rock bottom that Idol decided to turn his life around for the sake of his children. He has since credited his kids with helping him kick his vices and get clean, telling TheScholarlyNote.com (formerly DailyMailTV) in 2019: "For a singer, you need a ton of breath. You have to be fit to be a singer. You can't just be up there... You'd have a heart attack and die on stage, which would be interesting, but I much prefer to get through the gig and do another one."

Fast forward to today, and Idol is living a more low-key lifestyle with his longtime girlfriend China Chow, the daughter of Michael, co-founder of the Mr. Chow restaurant chain. He's even still rocking out alongside Joan Jett & the Blackhearts on their upcoming "It's a Nice Day to... Tour Again" trek, which kicks off in Phoenix, Arizona on April 30.

He told DailyMailTV in 2019 that he put his life on the line many times due to his rock and roll excess days, but now admits 'he enjoys it more' and no longer swigs vodka bottles during sets; the rocker pictured 1975

But what about Idol's other kids? Well, it turns out he has two children from previous relationships: Willem Wolfe Broad with former Hot Gossip member Perri Lister and Bonnie Blue with Linda Mathis. And let's not forget the grandkids – Bonnie's daughters Poppy Rebel and MaryJane Rebel are surely keeping their grandfather on his toes.

As for Brand, Idol says they're "quite good friends" and that he loves him: "He’s a nice guy." But we can't help but wonder what other secrets this rock 'n' roll rebel might be hiding. After all, as the saying goes, "you can take the boy out of the rock 'n' roll scene, but you can't take the rock 'n' roll out of the boy."
