Rock and Parrot: The Final Wishes of Murdered Music Exec and Rocker

American Idol music supervisor Robin Kaye and her husband Thomas DeLuca are pictured with their beloved pet parrot and tortoise, who were mentioned in the couple's will

MURDER, MAYHEM, AND MILLIONS: THE TRAGIC TALE OF AMERICAN IDOL EXECUTIVE ROBIN KAYE AND HER ROCKSTAR HUSBAND

In a shocking turn of events, award-winning music supervisor Robin Kaye and her musician husband Thomas Deluca were found shot dead in their Encino, California home on July 14. The gruesome murder has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, leaving fans and friends reeling with grief.

But what's even more astonishing is the jaw-dropping will left behind by the couple, which reveals a fascinating glimpse into their lavish lifestyle and charitable inclinations. According to court documents obtained by TheScholarlyNote.com, Kaye and Deluca divided $5.82 million of their personal assets among family members, friends, and causes they supported over the years.

The couple were shot to death inside their sprawling Encino, California, mansion on July 10

The generous couple, who were found shot dead just four days after a break-in at their home, left behind a staggering amount of cash to individual family members and friends. Each received between $100,000 to $1 million as a cash gift contribution from their personal assets. It's unclear how they managed to accumulate such wealth, but it's clear that Kaye and Deluca lived life to the fullest.

But what's even more intriguing is the couple's love for animals. They set aside $100,000 for their beloved parrot Bogey, complete with a $5,000 contribution from two close friends for his care. The parrot was apparently a cherished member of the family, and it's no wonder why they spared no expense in ensuring its well-being.

In addition to Bogey, the couple also bequeathed their pet tortoise to the California Turtle and Tortoise Club with a $10,000 contribution from their estate. It seems Kaye and Deluca were dedicated animal lovers, and their generosity knows no bounds – not even when it comes to their furry (or scaly) friends.

Kaye, pictured with singer Dolly Parton, worked as American Idol's music supervisor from 2009 to 2023. Over the years, Kaye won several Guild of Music Supervisors Awards for her work on the popular TV show

But what about the Encino mansion itself? Records show that Kaye and Deluca bought the sprawling six-bedroom, six-bathroom home in February 2023 for a staggering $4.8 million. The gross fair market value of the property is estimated at $2.5 million, but it's clear that this was no ordinary house.

As TheScholarlyNote.com reveals, Kaye and Deluca had planned to install state-of-the-art security technology and even a panic room after a rash of burglaries in the ritzy Encino area over the past year. But unfortunately for them, their efforts came too late, and the tragic event unfolded in the dead of night.

Security expert Guy Cohen from SecureIT Home told TheScholarlyNote.com that he visited the couple's house on May 20 after someone broke into their property. "Robin reached out to me and wanted a consultation," Cohen revealed. "She was nervous because they had just had a break-in the previous evening. An intruder came in through the sliding glass door in the kitchen. They were home, and the dog started barking, and she yelled, and the burglar ran away."

Police allege Boodarian, pictured above, did not know the couple, and had entered the home with the intent of burglarizing it

TheScholarlyNote.com obtained search warrants that showed a neighbor called 911 at around 4 pm on July 10 to report an intruder at Kaye and Deluca's home. About 40 minutes later, police received a second call from someone inside the couple's home, claiming to be a resident. According to the warrant, the 911 dispatch operator heard the caller say, "Please don't shoot me" to someone.

Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman alleges that 22-year-old Raymond Boodarian broke into the couple's home on July 10 and shot Kaye and Deluca as they returned home from a grocery run. Boodarian called 911 and identified himself to police, but it was too late for the couple.

Boodarian has been charged with two counts of murder, burglary, and special allegations for multiple murders, personal discharge of a firearm, and murder while engaging in a robbery. He is being held without bail at the notorious Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Downtown Los Angeles.

As TheScholarlyNote.com delves deeper into this tragic tale, one thing becomes clear: Robin Kaye and Thomas Deluca lived life on their own terms – and died tragically, but with a heart full of love for each other, their family, friends, and even their furry (and scaly) companions.
