Robbie Williams vs. Taylor Swift: Album Release Clash!
ROBBIE WILLIAMS SHOCKS FANS WITH TAPESTRIES OF BEHIND-THE-SCENES DRAMA
In a jaw-dropping revelation, pop legend Robbie Williams spilled all about his latest album postponement and why he was too afraid to take on the music world's queen, Taylor Swift. The usually outspoken singer confessed that he pulled the plug on his Britpop release after discovering Taylor had locked in her own release date.
At an exclusive comeback gig at London's Dingwalls, Robbie dropped a bombshell: "We're all pretending it's not about Taylor Swift, but f*ing is." He told the sold-out crowd that competing with the global superstar was futile. As one of the UK's most successful artists, with 15 No.1 albums under his belt (tying him with The Beatles), Robbie revealed he had a new goal in mind: to beat their record and claim 16 No.1 albums.
However, things took a turn when Taylor announced her album release date just weeks before Robbie's own Britpop drop. In an exasperated tone, he quipped, "I just went for 'for f*s sake'." The singer even jokingly called his decision to postpone the album "selfish" but firmly stated, "How many times in your life do you get to have the most No.1 albums the UK has ever had?"
The evening was filled with laughter and music as Robbie took the stage, performing both Life Thru a Lens and Britpop in their entirety. With strict security measures in place, fans were encouraged to stay present and phone-free during the highly anticipated show.
In other news, Robbie Williams' daughter Teddy is making waves in the music industry with her budding songwriting skills. The 13-year-old has been composing heartfelt tracks since she was just six years old! It seems like talent runs in the family, as Robbie's new album Britpop is set to play a key role in his next big passion project: a stage musical about his life.
The pop superstar also opened up about living with Tourette's syndrome, which he was diagnosed with after discovering "autistic traits" during an autism test. In a deeply personal chat on the podcast I'm ADHD! No You're Not, Robbie spoke candidly about his struggles with fame, addiction, and impostor syndrome.
As the world knows all too well, Robbie has been open about his battle with ADHD and battling several addictions since rising to fame in the early Nineties. The Angels hitmaker has endured multiple spells in rehab for alcohol and drugs, but it seems like he's finally finding peace and acceptance within himself.
In a poignant conversation with hosts Paul Whitehouse and Dr Mine Conkbayir, Robbie confessed that even performing in front of sold-out stadiums doesn't drown out the intrusive thoughts that come with his Tourette's. "I was just walking down the road the other day," he recalled, "and I realised these intrusive thoughts are inside Tourettes. It just doesn't come out."
Tourette syndrome is a neurological condition characterized by involuntary noises and movements called tics. The condition often runs in families and can be associated with OCD or ADHD.
The news of Robbie's diagnosis comes after fellow chart star Lewis Capaldi revealed he was living with the same condition, which led to him taking a hiatus from music in 2023 due to his tics preventing him from completing a performance at Glastonbury.
