'Reverse Vasectomy' Reunion: Ryan Reynolds Hosts Bizarre Beverly Hills, 90210 Bash
Ryan Reynolds' Bizarre Reunion with 90210 Stars Tori Spelling and Brian Austin Green: A Cocktail Recipe for Father's Day...and a Dash of Drama!
In a move that left many scratching their heads, Hollywood A-lister Ryan Reynolds opted to eschew his usual A-list pals in favor of hosting a reunion with two former stars of the hit TV show Beverly Hills, 90210. The 48-year-old Deadpool and Wolverine star brought together Tori Spelling, 52, and Brian Austin Green, 51, for a Father's Day-themed commercial for his Aviation Gin brand.
The eccentric clip, which aired just days after Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively scored a major court victory in their defamation lawsuit against Justin Baldoni, was a head-scratching affair. The video began with Brian announcing the name of the cocktail he would be making: the Reverse Vasectomy. Yes, you read that right.
"I'm going to celebrate Father's Day...with a Reverse Vasectomy," Brian declared, followed by cringe-worthy sound effects including what sounded like the slash of a knife and a man wincing. "I have no idea how to make one, but I'm sure I can figure it out."
Tori Spelling, donning her signature 90s flair, then stepped in to guide viewers through the recipe. The concoction required a highball glass with an orange twist garnish, three ounces of tonic water, a squeeze of lemon, one ounce of cranberry juice, and 1.5 ounces of gin. As she rattled off the ingredients, Brian muttered, "I don't remember our show having a laugh track."
The video's tone only grew more bizarre as Ryan Reynolds himself appeared on set, shouting out directions to his former TV stars. "God, you can't do anything without me," Tori quipped, as Blake Lively's husband continued to narrate the proceedings.
But just days prior, the couple had emerged victorious in their high-profile defamation lawsuit against Justin Baldoni, who sought $400 million in damages over a tweet posted by Reynolds. The judge threw out the suit with prejudice, meaning it cannot be refiled.
However, Baldoni's attorney has warned that Blake Lively is on a "false victory tour" as she celebrates the win. The judge's decision gives Lively's legal team the option to refile four of its seven claims by June 23, so the couple isn't completely out of the woods yet.
Meanwhile, Lively herself has been embroiled in another controversy surrounding her former friend Taylor Swift. Justin Baldoni defenders have gloated over the fact that Swift deleted multiple Instagram posts featuring photos with Blake or referencing her in the wake of their reported falling out.
But here's the thing: those posts were actually deleted as part of a promotional stunt for Swift's album Reputation, which dropped in November 2017. Fans familiar with the singer-songwriter's complicated history have pointed out online that the post's absence has nothing to do with Taylor and Blake's fractured relationship.
In fact, Swift still has some posts featuring photos with Blake on her page. It seems that sometimes the truth can be more complicated than a simple case of celebrity drama.
As Reynolds' bizarre reunion video wraps up, it's clear that the actor is breathing a sigh of relief just days after his court victory. But will this strange Father's Day celebration become the talk of Tinseltown, or will it simply fade into obscurity like so many other celebrity antics? Only time will tell.
