Rebel Wilson Strikes Back: Lawsuit Drama and a Rogue Song Release
SHE'S SPEAKING OUT! Rebel Wilson Fires Back at Producers in Bitter Dispute Over Directorial Debut Film
The drama just got juicier in Hollywood, folks! Rebel Wilson is hitting back hard against the producers of her directorial debut film, The Deb, with a scathing Instagram post that's left everyone talking. And we've got all the juicy details!
Rebel, 45, has been at war with producers Vince Holden, Gregor Cameron, and Amanda Ghost over the fate of her film, which has been stuck in limbo for far too long. The latest development is a second lawsuit filed against Wilson by the trio, claiming she made false and derogatory statements about them.
But Rebel isn't having it! She's fired back with a lengthy post on Instagram, calling their actions "spiteful toxic behaviour" and accusing them of trying to sabotage her film. And let's just say, she's not holding back!
"It makes no sense," Wilson began her scathing rant. "As the director, producer, and co-star who nurtured this project for five years from a three-page idea into a gorgeous feature film, I wish nothing more than to have this film released and have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to get this to happen."
Rebel then went on to defend herself against allegations of making false claims about the producers. "To say otherwise is complete nonsense," she wrote. "I'm so proud of the film! In my opinion, this is continued bullying and harassment from UK financiers of the project Amanda Ghost, Gregor Cameron, and Vince Holden."
But that's not all, folks! Rebel also took aim at Charlotte MacInnes, the star of The Deb, who has been accused of being involved with one of the producers. Wilson claims that MacInnes was "culturally appropriating" an Indian outfit on a luxury yacht in Cannes and that she's now working with Ghost on a new production.
"Charlotte MacInnes in a culturally inappropriate Indian outfit on Len Blavatnik's luxury yacht in Cannes—ironically singing a song from a movie that will never get released because of her... support for the people blocking the film's release," Wilson wrote, posting footage of MacInnes' performance.
And if you thought that was the end of it, think again! Rebel also shared a screenshot of an article on The Scholarly Note.com (formerly Daily Mail) and wrote: "There is no world where this is acceptable. The fact that this girl has been employed now by this 'producer' in the lead role of a production called GATSBY (ART Boston) and given a record label—should be all the proof you need as to why she has now changed her story."
But here's the thing, Rebel's not just talking the talk – she's also walking the walk! She announced that she'd be releasing the first song from The Deb, titled "F* My Life," for her fans to enjoy. And let's just say, it's a pretty fitting title considering all that's been going on!
As the drama continues to unfold, one thing is clear: Rebel Wilson isn't afraid to speak her mind and stand up for what she believes in. And we're loving every minute of it!

In related news, Rebel's second lawsuit against Holden, Cameron, and Ghost is still pending in the US courts, where they've accused her of injurious falsehood, misleading and deceptive conduct, breaches of contract and director's duties. And let's not forget that Wilson has also been sued for defamation by the trio in the NSW Supreme Court.
But despite all this drama, Rebel remains committed to releasing her film and giving credit to the talented crew who worked on it. "I just want this movie to come out and for all the amazingly talented contributors to be recognised for their sensational work!" she wrote.
And as we wait with bated breath to see what happens next, one thing is clear: Rebel Wilson isn't going down without a fight!
