Prince Harry's Out-of-Touch Comment: Royal Family Left at a Loss

Prince Harry made headlines in April 2022 for a confusing and contradictory claim he made during an interview for the postponed 2020 Invictus Games in The Hague

Royal Ruckus: Prince Harry's Never-Ending Drama

The world is still reeling from the latest explosive claims made by Prince Harry, the former royal who has become infamous for his outbursts and lack of self-awareness. In a bizarre interview, Harry revealed that he's been making sure Queen Elizabeth II is "protected" - a comment that left many scratching their heads and wondering if he's lost his grip on reality.

But this isn't the first time Harry has made headlines for all the wrong reasons. Remember when he advised people to leave their jobs for a "mental health awakening," mere months after he abandoned his royal duties to live in luxury with Meghan Markle? Yeah, that didn't go over well.

Asked by the Today host Hoda Kotb how the Queen was doing after the prince's quick stop-off in the UK, he replied: 'She's on great form'

And then there was the time he claimed to have been financially cut off by the Royal Family, despite inheriting millions from his mother, Princess Diana. Talk about a case of "I'm a victim!" The Queen Mother herself set up a family trust fund for Harry and his siblings - but I guess that doesn't count as financial support in his book.

So, what's behind Prince Harry's never-ending drama? Is it a cry for attention, or is he genuinely clueless about how his actions affect others? We explore the latest controversy and examine the damage control measures that have only made things worse.

The Interview from Hell

Harry said that he was ensuring the Queen was 'protected', and had the 'right people around her'

In April 2022, Harry sat down with Today host Hoda Kotb to discuss the postponed Invictus Games in The Hague. But instead of talking about the games or his charitable work, he launched into a bizarre monologue about his grandmother's well-being. "Being with her, it was great," he gushed. "She's on great form, she's always got a great sense of humour with me... I'm making sure she's protected and got the right people around her."

Some royal observers were left scratching their heads at Harry's comments - including his own father, Prince Charles, who allegedly looked like he'd just sucked on a lemon during their 15-minute meeting. It seems that even Charles is at a loss to explain his son's behavior.

The Critics Weigh In

The Invictus Games interview came just a year after Harry made his first trip back to Britain since the previous summer. Meghan and Harry stopped by Windsor Castle to visit the Queen on their way to the Netherlands

Journalist Giles Coren wasn't having it, writing in The Times: "If Harry doesn't keep his grandmother on the straight and narrow, who knows what could happen? She could marry someone unsuitable, or fall out with her entire family." Ouch!

And let's not forget Harry's explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey last year. Remember when he claimed that the Queen was badly advised by those around her? Yeah, that didn't go down well either.

The Ratings Game

While Harry did not elaborate on what he meant, his comments came just over a year after the Sussexes' explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey

So, what's behind Prince Harry's never-ending drama? Is it a cry for attention, or is he genuinely clueless about how his actions affect others? According to royal biographer Ingrid Seward, Harry has a pattern of behavior that's all too familiar. "He chooses to be the victim and wreak vengeance on the slights he thought he had suffered; on his family, on the press and through the courts," she wrote in her book My Mother And I.

The Polls Are Out

Since stepping down as senior royals, Harry and Meghan's popularity has taken a nosedive. A YouGov poll in May 2025 showed that only 27 per cent of the public held a positive view of Harry, with just 20 per cent having a positive view of Meghan. That's a far cry from November 2017, when 81 per cent of Britons told polls they had a positive view of Harry and almost half liked Meghan.

Royal author Tom Quinn wrote in his book Gilded Youth: 'Harry's lack of self-awareness is matched only by that of his wife'

The Security Saga

And then there was the security appeal that cost British taxpayers £100,000. Yeah, that didn't go over well either. In fact, it only fueled more speculation about Harry's court battle and whether he'll use it as an excuse to publish a sequel to his explosive memoir, Spare.

A Reconciliation in Sight?

Don't hold your breath. According to insiders, Prince Charles won't even speak with Harry, let alone reconcile with him. It seems that the feud is far from over - and we're left wondering what other drama this royal will unleash next.
