Post Malone's Paris Fashion Fiasco: 'Do Outfits Come with Beer?'
POST MALONE RIDES INTO PARIS FASHION WEEK WITH HIS COWBOY-THEMED CLOTHING LINE, BUT FASHION ELITES AREN'T BUYING IT
In a move that's left fashion enthusiasts scratching their heads, Post Malone has unleashed his debut clothing line, Austin Post, at the prestigious Paris Fashion Week. The "Circles" hitmaker brought the heat to Karl Lagerfeld's former mansion Hôtel de Bourdon with a swanky runway show that was equal parts rodeo and rave.
The models, clad in cowboy boots and sporting Malone's signature laid-back vibes, stormed the catwalk as if they were on their way to a backyard barbecue. And speaking of BBQs, there were reportedly plenty of Bud Light beers on hand to keep things "cool." Yes, you read that right – Bud Light. The beer brand has become synonymous with Post Malone's carefree lifestyle, and it was only fitting that it made an appearance at the fashion show.
But the pièce de résistance came when one of the models rode a horse down the runway, because why not? This was, after all, Post Malone we're talking about. The 30-year-old music superstar has never been one to play by the rules, and his clothing line is no exception.
Celebrity attendees, including country music star Chris Stapleton and Harlem rapper A$AP Nast, seemed to be enjoying the spectacle, but fashion critics were quick to pounce on the line. "This is clothing not fashion," sniped one critic, while another quipped, "Paris has fallen to Bud Light." Ouch!
Some of the more... creative comments included: "It's giving Old Navy, Texas mall, it's giving Bud Light, BBQ brisket, Diane's Country Shoppe" and "Too many yes folk in his corner. Not one wants to tell him that the horse is cringe and his clothes are 'LA fashion week' material." Yeah, we get it – you're trying to be clever.
But let's not forget, Post Malone is a trailblazer, and he's always been unafraid to speak his mind (and wear whatever makes him happy). In a press release promoting the line, he said that he "recognized a space between authentic Americana and modern luxury" and decided to fill it with Austin Post. Because, why not? It's not like he's trying to be a fashion icon or anything.
When asked about his decision to debut the line in Paris, Post Malone told GQ, "I just wanted to make a brand of st that I would wear... I'm 30 years old now – I don't dress as flashy, and I wear the same st every day, just about." Ah, we see what you did there. You're not trying to be fashion-forward; you're just being yourself.
And speaking of himself, Post Malone's love affair with Paris Fashion Week is nothing new. In August, he stripped off for Kim Kardashian's SKIMS loungewear campaign, showing off his striking weight loss in camouflage boxer briefs. Yeah, it was a thing.
But now that Austin Post has arrived on the fashion scene, some fans might be wondering if they can afford to rock the line. Unfortunately, the prices are predicted to be "mid-to-high," which might put them out of budget for some of Malone's devoted followers.
So, will Austin Post become the next big thing in fashion? Only time will tell, but one thing's for sure – it's already got everyone talking. And if you're looking for a fashion line that's as laid-back and carefree as Post Malone himself, then this might just be the ticket. Just don't forget to bring your Bud Light.
