Perez Hilton Defends His Sources: Legal Drama with Blake Lively Unfolds

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, 47, (pictured) has revealed why fighting actress Blake Lively in court 'is the right thing to do' after being dragged into her high-profile lawsuit against It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni

BLAKE LIVELY VS PIERCE HILTON: A CELEBRITY FEUD TURNS INTO A LEGAL BATTLE

In a shocking turn of events, celebrity blogger Perez Hilton has revealed why he's taking on actress Blake Lively in court, and trust us, it's about to get messy! The two are currently locked in a high-profile lawsuit, with Lively accusing Hilton of being part of a "smear campaign" against her co-star Justin Baldoni. But don't just take our word for it - let's dive into the juicy details.

Perez Hilton, whose real name is Mario Lavandeira, will face off against Lively in court this week after being hit with a subpoena from team Lively. The subpoena demands that Hilton hand over his journalistic sources and materials, which he claims would compromise his integrity as a journalist. And let's be real, folks - we all know how Perez loves to dish out the tea!

Lively's team is arguing that Hilton should not be considered a journalist for the purposes of this case and that shield law protections should not apply. (Pictured: Perez Hilton)

Speaking to The Kyle And Jackie O Show on Tuesday, Hilton confirmed that he'll be representing himself in court because, let's face it, lawyers can be pricey! "I'm fighting this because I'm not being sued, but it's the right thing to do to fight it," he explained. "Blake Lively is demanding that I unmask my anonymous sources and give her all of my work product, my published and unpublished journalistic material as well." And Hilton isn't having it - at least, not without a fight.

The California actress is seeking protection under Nevada's journalist shield laws, which would protect his sources and unpublished materials. But Lively's team is arguing that Hilton shouldn't be considered a "journalist" for the purposes of this case, and therefore shouldn't be entitled to those protections. Yeah, we know - it sounds like a real soap opera!

Hilton has been running his eponymous website for 21 years, and he's not about to let Lively get away with trying to silence him now. "If the judge agrees with her, then other journalists working in the digital-only space are not going to have the same protections as those that are affiliated with a radio station like you or with a newspaper or a TV show," he warned.

'So long as [Lively] stays married to Ryan Reynolds, she'll be fine because he is still an A-lister,' Hilton said. (Pictured: Blake Lively and husband Ryan Reynolds, April 2025)

And trust us - this case has major implications for all of us in the entertainment industry. Hilton pointed out that Lively had "strategically" failed to tell the Nevada judge that he'd initially believed her claims against Baldoni, before "organically" changing his mind after reviewing more evidence. Yeah, we're talking about some serious mud-slinging here!

So what's behind this very public feud? Well, back in December, Lively filed a California Civil Rights complaint against Baldoni, accusing him of improvising unwanted intimate behavior and invading her personal space on the set of It Ends With Us. But then - BAM! Baldoni countersued for $400m, claiming defamation.

And that's when things got really interesting. Hilton revealed that he'd initially supported Lively, but after reviewing more evidence, including texts and emails, he changed his mind. "In my opinion, I feel like I was lied to," he said. Ouch - talk about a public burn!

The long-running legal drama kicked off last December when Lively sued Baldoni (left) for $250m claiming he had behaved ¿inappropriately¿ on set, which he denies

But here's the thing: both parties deny any wrongdoing, and the trial is set to begin in March 2026. So what's next for these two? Well, Hilton believes that Lively will come out of this looking pretty okay - after all, she's still married to Ryan Reynolds, an A-list husband who can basically get her whatever she wants.

And as for Baldoni? Hilton thinks he'll be just fine too. "The court of public opinion is on his side, and they really want to see him overcome this and be successful in his next ventures." Yeah - we're talking about some serious brand damage control here!

This isn't the first time Lively has issued a subpoena to content creators amid her legal battle - she's also gone after YouTubers Candace Owens and Andy Signore. But what's really going on behind the scenes? We can only speculate, folks.

One thing is for sure: this drama is far from over. Stay tuned for more updates on this juicy celebrity feud!
