Paulina Porizkova's Candid Reflection: Love, Betrayal, and Legacy Post-Ocasek

On Monday, Paulina Porizkova shared a rare candid snap of herself embracing late husband Ric Ocasek while reflecting on the 'selfish kind of love' they shared before their 27-year marriage imploded in 2017

EXCLUSIVE: Paulina Porizkova Unleashes Scathing Takedown of Late Husband Ric Ocasek's Shocking Betrayal

In a jaw-dropping Instagram post, 60-year-old supermodel and writer Paulina Porizkova has finally broken her silence on the devastating betrayal she suffered at the hands of her late husband, music legend Ric Ocasek. The candid photo shared by the Czech-born beauty reveals a tender moment between the couple, but it's the accompanying caption that drops a bombshell about their toxic 27-year marriage.

Porizkova writes: "This photo captures one side of our relationship, one that was not visible to the public." And what she reveals is nothing short of astonishing. The six-time Grammy nominee had cast her in his band's Drive music video back in 1984 when Porizkova was just 19 years old. But it wasn't until they met again in 2017, after their 35-year marriage imploded, that the full extent of their twisted dynamic came to light.

The Czech-born 60-year-old wrote on Instagram: 'Even though he was 21 years older, and in many ways filled in for my parents during our 35 years, it was I who was sharply protective of HIM' (pictured in 2018)

Porizkova confesses that she was fiercely protective of Ocasek, even going so far as to "mend" him and "heal the little scared boy in his heart." But what drove this need for control? According to Porizkova, it was a classic case of codependency. She wanted to be loved by someone who reminded her of her parents, while Ocasek craved adoration from someone with "public value" – namely, a high-profile celebrity like herself.

"It was selfish kind of love for both of us," she writes. "But it worked beautifully for a long time." Yet this toxic dynamic ultimately led to their marriage's downfall. Porizkova reveals that she conformed to Ocasek's wishes for years, even sacrificing her own career and relationships in the process. But when she finally stood up for herself, things began to go sour.

The devastating twist? Just three weeks after discovering Ocasek dead at 75 from natural causes in 2019, Porizkova was shocked to learn that he had left her with nothing – not a single penny – from his $10 million Gramercy Park townhouse. The betrayal was so severe that it "blew up [her] world and everything [she] knew."

Paulina confessed that she wanted 'to be loved by someone who resembled my parents' while The Cars frontman 'wanted to be adored by someone of public value...who would make him look good' (pictured in 2018)

"It's a betrayal," she laments. "It's a betrayal of my trust and my love and everything I put into him for years and years and years." Porizkova eventually settled with Ocasek's estate in 2021, but the exact amount remains undisclosed.

The news raises even more questions about Ocasek's complex family dynamics. The music legend had also disinherited his two eldest sons from his first marriage to Constance Campbell – a move that has left fans stunned. Yet, mercifully, their children with Porizkova were spared this cruel fate.

As for Porizkova herself? She's been busy rebuilding her life since Ocasek's passing. After a brief romance with West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin in 2021, she began dating sitcom producer-director Jeff Greenstein in 2023 – and the two are now engaged! Greenstein co-hosts a popular podcast called I Dream of Cameras and has worked on hit shows like Extended Family, Friends, Will & Grace, and Desperate Housewives.

Porizkova wrote: 'It was selfish kind of love for both of us. But it worked beautifully for a long time. I like to think of it as our childhood scars being placed in such a way on our bodies, that when we embraced, they fit perfectly' (pictured in 2016)

TheScholarlyNote.com has learned that Porizkova's highly anticipated memoir is set to be published soon, with sources close to the author hinting at a scathing exposé of her tumultuous marriage. Stay tuned for more updates on this juicy celebrity scandal!
