Paul Hogan's Final Wish: 'Die in Australia' and Scattering Ashes Over Sydney Harbour Bridge

Paul Hogan (pictured) has revealed his plans to return to Australia before he dies. The 85-year-old actor, who has been based in Los Angeles since the 1990s, told 7NEWS on Monday that he wants to spend his final moments in his home country

HOGAN'S HOME COMING: Paul Hogan Ditches LA for Australia Forever - But There's a Catch!

In a shocking twist, Aussie legend Paul Hogan has revealed his plan to leave the sun-kissed streets of Los Angeles behind and return to his homeland, where he'll spend his twilight years surrounded by the land Down Under. The 85-year-old Crocodile Dundee star has been based in LA since the 1990s, but it seems he's had enough of California dreaming.

According to a recent interview with 7NEWS, Hogan expressed his desire to return to Australia "as soon as possible" and even plans to have his ashes scattered off the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge! When asked what prompted this decision, Hogan confessed that time is slipping away, and he wants to make the most of it. With a wry laugh, he said, "I want to die here. I am antique now."

But don't think for a second that Hogan's departure from LA will be a quick one. He's staying stateside for the time being to support his son, Chance, 27, who's still building his career. It seems the troubled young man has been the reason why Hogan remained in the USA, and now that he's had a wake-up call during their recent trip back to Australia, things are about to change.

An alleged source close to the family told The Scholarly Note, "Paul felt healthier than he'd been in months, and even Chance agreed that Australia had been good for them both. But this recent trip was a wake-up call. He can see how important it is for his dad to spend his twilight years on home turf. He now believes it will extend his life."

Chance has been living with his father in LA since their divorce in 2014 after 24 years of marriage, and it seems the young man is finally coming around to the idea of letting his dad return to Australia.

Hogan told 7NEWS on Monday that he is remaining in the USA for the time being, in order to support Chance (pictured), whom he referred to as his 'troubled son,' in his career

In an exclusive chat with Today show entertainment editor Richard Wilkins, Hogan opened up about his relationship with his wayward son. "He's still trying to build his career up, and as soon as he does I will be back here," Hogan revealed. "Unless he comes with me, I will be back sooner."

It seems Chance has been the reason why Hogan stayed in LA for so long, but now that he's seen the benefits of being back in Australia, he's ready to make a permanent move.

The Nine host pressed Hogan on when he plans to make this move, and the actor replied, "Oh, tomorrow." However, it seems there are still some business reasons keeping him stateside for now. "I have business reasons and my son to stay in the States for now," he explained.

When asked about his son's well-being, Hogan revealed that Chance is doing better than he thought. "Alright. Better than he gets," he said with a hint of amusement. It seems Chance has been getting attention from the tabloids, but Hogan isn't worried. "He's a terrible person because he knows they're watching him and he puts something on for them."

This news comes after concerns were raised about Chance's welfare back in January when he shared concerning videos to his Instagram Stories, showing him drinking wine and slurring his words.

It seems Paul Hogan is finally ready to leave the bright lights of LA behind and return to the land that has always been his home. But will he really make the move, or is this just a pipe dream? Only time will tell!
