Paris Jackson Breaks Silence: 'Michael' Biopic Filled with Inaccuracies'
Paris Jackson EXPOSES Hollywood Drama: "I Don't Want Anything to Do with This Lie-Filled Biopic!"
The drama is brewing in Tinseltown, and at the center of it all is none other than Paris Jackson, the 27-year-old heiress to the King of Pop's throne. The stunning socialite has publicly distanced herself from Lionsgate's $155M-budget musical biopic, Michael, which tells the story of her late father's life.
But what sparked this drama-filled departure? Insiders claim that Colman Domingo, who portrays Paris' great-grandfather Joe Jackson in the film, had been spreading rumors that she was "very much in support" of the movie and even claimed to have chatted with her at length. However, Paris set the record straight on Instagram, revealing that their interactions were merely brief.
"I've met this man twice - once at a birthday party and once at the amfAR thing the other night," she snarkily responded to Colman's claims. "Both were, like, hella brief interactions."
But what really got under Paris' skin was the biopic's portrayal of her family's history. The film promises an "unbiased" telling of Michael Jackson's 1993 child sexual abuse allegations - a topic that is still very much sensitive to this day.
Paris blasted the project, saying: "The thing about these biopics is it's Hollywood. It's fantasy land — it's not real, but it's sold to you as real, and a lot of sugar-coated, like, the narrative is being controlled."
She continued, "There's a lot of inaccuracy and there's a lot of just full-blown lies. At the end of the day, that doesn't really fly with me. I don't really like dishonesty." And it seems she had good reason to be upset - Paris claimed that her initial feedback on the script was ignored.
In fact, she revealed that she had even spoken up about her concerns before ultimately cutting ties with the project altogether. "I spoke up," she said. "I wasn't heard. I f*ed off. That's it."
But what really caught our attention was Paris' scathing remarks about the film's production company, GK Films, which produced the Oscar-winning Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody in 2018.
"I remember hearing about how Freddie Mercury's family responded to seeing that movie," she snarked. "I think they were pretty upset."
Paris also took a swipe at her cousin Jaafar Jackson, who stars as Michael in the film, saying: "The film panders to a very specific section of my dad's fandom that still lives in a fantasy, and they're gonna be happy with it." Ouch!
And if you thought Paris was done spilling tea, think again! The socialite also addressed the backlash she faced for speaking out against the biopic. "Something quite a lot of people are saying is, 'She hates her dad. She resents him. She wants nothing to do with him,'" she scoffed.
"[All] because I'm not, like, calling the shots on set being a big-shot producer of a movie that's filled with just inaccuracies," Paris continued. "That's not my truth. That's not where I'm coming from."
When asked about her annual $8M inheritance from her father's estate, which she receives in installments at age 18, 33, and 40, Paris shut down the rumors: "I kinda just don't want anything to do with that." Ah, drama!
As for what's next for this fiery heiress, sources close to her say she's focusing on her acting career, including upcoming roles in the RZA's Atlanta-set drama One Spoon of Chocolate and Ronald Krauss' indie horror thriller Open Wounds. We can't wait to see what's in store!
In related news, Paris Jackson has been spotted strolling through Los Angeles with a peace sign, sending a clear message to her detractors: she's standing by her artistic vision and refusing to be silenced.
