Poole was found to have breached the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's policy, according to the department's complaint.
Poole pleaded with the fact that he followed the car but not in pursuit.
Poole's attorneys argued that Poole's chiefs falsely blamed him for leaking information of Gibson's detention and anti-Semitic tirade. The lawyers alleged that Poole was subsequently subjected to shaming and unfair punishment and then dismissed.
