Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson: On-Screen Romance Sparks Real-Life Chemistry?
WHEN PAMELA MET LIAM: A MATCH MADE IN COMEDY HEAVEN
In a surprise twist, two Hollywood legends, Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson, have teamed up for a hilarious sequel to the classic slapstick comedy series, The Naked Gun. But before they could get to work, they had to sit through their own movie - a daunting task that left them both shaken.
As we caught up with the duo in an exclusive interview, it was clear that they were still reeling from the experience. "I'm thinking, 'My head is too big. She's gorgeous. The side of my face!'" Neeson exclaimed, referencing his character's infamous awkwardness on screen. Anderson chuckled in agreement, adding, "It's not normal."
The unlikely pair have more in common than you might think. Both are veterans of the comedy genre - Anderson having started her career as the iconic Tool Time Girl on Home Improvement, while Neeson has been making us laugh with his dry wit and impressive impressions (we're looking at you, Donald Trump!).
Despite their differing backgrounds (Neeson hails from Northern Ireland, where he was a amateur boxer, while Anderson grew up in Canada), they've both experienced a late-life career resurgence. For Neeson, it's been a string of action-packed blockbusters, including the Taken franchise and Schindler's List. For Anderson, it's been a slew of critically acclaimed performances, including her Golden Globe-nominated turn in Gia Coppola's The Last Showgirl.
But when they're not busy making us laugh or cry (depending on the movie), they're just two old friends hanging out. Neeson revealed that he and Anderson have become fast friends, bonding over their shared love of gardening (he tends to his own plot at home in Upstate New York, while she has a seven-acre estate on Vancouver Island). "We both read before bed," Anderson said with a smile. "And neither of us likes to carry our phones around."
It's clear that this dynamic duo has chemistry not just on screen, but off as well. When asked about their favorite part of shooting The Naked Gun, Neeson quipped, "The sex scenes!" (don't worry, they had an intimacy coordinator on set). Anderson giggled in response, saying, "She knew when to walk away."
As we delved deeper into their relationship, it became apparent that these two are more than just colleagues - they're kindred spirits. Neeson shared a heartwarming story about how Anderson surprised him with homemade sourdough bread and muffins on set. "I was testing my cookbook recipes on Liam," she explained, referring to her upcoming vegan cookbook, I Love You: Recipes From The Heart.
As the interview drew to a close, we asked the burning question: would they do a sequel to The Naked Gun? Neeson's response was immediate and enthusiastic - "I would, absolutely. In a heartbeat." Anderson echoed his sentiments, adding, "I'll follow him anywhere."
The Naked Gun is set to hit theaters on August 1st. Mark your calendars for a laugh-out-loud good time with two of Hollywood's most beloved stars.
