Ozzy Osbourne's Unseen Legacy: Jessica Reveals He Became a Grandfather
THE OZZY OSBOURNE EXCLUSIVE: A Family Divided, Secrets Revealed
The music world is still reeling from the shocking news of Ozzy Osbourne's passing on Tuesday, but it seems that beneath the surface, there was more drama brewing in the Osbourne household. As we delve into the lives of Ozzy's children, a tangled web of family secrets and strained relationships begins to emerge.
Meet Jessica, Ozzy's rarely-seen daughter from his first marriage to Thelma Riley. While her siblings, Kelly and Jack, stole the spotlight on reality show The Osbournes, Jessica remained in the shadows. But it was she who made headlines when she became a grandmother for the first time, a secret revealed in an old clip from The Osbournes' 2002 episode 'Smells Like Teen Spirits.' Ozzy's reaction to being a grandfather? Priceless.
As we know, Ozzy had six children with two wives. But it was his children with Sharon that got most of the attention on The Osbournes. Jack and Kelly were the stars of the show, but their relationships with their siblings are far from rosy. Aimee, Ozzy's eldest daughter with Sharon, has spoken out about her strained relationship with younger sister Kelly.
"I don't think she understands me," Kelly confessed in an interview four years ago on the Armchair Expert podcast. "We're just really different."
But what about Aimee and Jack? Their bond is much stronger, as they've teamed up to run production company Osbourne Media together. However, it's clear that family dynamics were far from harmonious.
In a 2015 interview with The Independent, Aimee admitted, "I wouldn't say there is an ease between Kelly and me, but there is an acceptance." Kelly corroborated this, stating they didn't socialize.
It seems that Ozzy's family life was no bed of roses. His children from his first marriage to Thelma Riley, Louis and Jessica, have also spoken out about their complicated relationship with their father.
"I don't remember being put to bed or having a bath by dad," Jessica recalled in the 2011 documentary film God Bless Ozzy Osbourne. "I wouldn't say he was there for us, no, never on sports day, school trip, parents' evening."
Louis shared similar sentiments: "When he wasn't drunk, he was a great father... But that was kind of seldom, really." He revealed the darker side of Ozzy's behavior in the documentary, recalling memories of his dad driving cars across fields and crashing them in the middle of the night.
It seems that Ozzy's family life was far from perfect. His children have been vocal about their complicated relationships with each other and their father. But what sparked this latest drama?
According to insiders, Ozzy's death was met with an air ambulance call to his multi-million-pound country home on Tuesday morning. The Thames Valley air ambulance landed in a field close to Welders House, the singer's Grade II listed mansion, at around 10:30 am.
It's believed that calls from Welders House led paramedics to believe Ozzy's life was in danger. A chopper was dispatched from Thames Valley ambulance base at RAF Benson in Wallingford, Oxfordshire, some 27 miles from the mansion. The crew were airborne for around 15 minutes before landing and trying but failing to save Ozzy's life.
As we bid farewell to the Prince of Darkness, it's clear that his family life was far more complicated than fans ever imagined. With secrets revealed, relationships strained, and a tangled web of drama, the Osbourne household will never be seen in the same light again.
