Ozzy Osbourne Passes Away at 76: A Legend Surrounded by Love

OZZY OSBOURNE DEAD AT 76: THE PRINCE OF DARKNESS FINALLY RESTS

The music world is reeling in shock as the news breaks that Ozzy Osbourne, the Prince of Darkness and legendary frontman of Black Sabbath, has passed away at the ripe age of 76. The metal icon's family released a statement confirming his passing, saying he was surrounded by love when he left this mortal coil.

But don't expect any tears from us just yet - we'll get to those later. First, let's take a trip down memory lane and relive some of Ozzy's most iconic (and infamous) moments that cemented his status as rock 'n' roll royalty.

Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis wrote in a statement: 'He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time' Pictured: Ozzy, Sharon, Kelly and Jack

From biting the head off a bat on stage (because why not?) to snorting ants like they were Tic Tacs, Ozzy was the ultimate rebel without a pause. Who else could pull off peeing on a US war memorial while wearing their wife's dress? That's right, folks - only Ozzy Osbourne.

But beneath all the antics and controversy lies a music legacy that can't be ignored. As the founder of Black Sabbath, Ozzy helped shape the heavy metal genre into what it is today. With hits like "Iron Man," "War Pigs," and "Paranoid," their music still sends shivers down our spines.

And let's not forget the drama - oh, the drama! A future pope even condemned Ozzy for his "subliminal satanic influence" (because, of course, that was a thing). But we won't go into all the juicy details... yet.

Just three weeks ago he took to the stage at Birmingham's Villa Park Stadium, reuniting with his Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward

In recent years, Ozzy's been battling some serious health issues. After seven surgeries in five years, including a fourth spinal operation just last September, he seemed to have weathered the storm. However, rumors swirled about his private struggles with Parkinson's disease, which he was diagnosed with back in 2003.

But did anyone really think Ozzy Osbourne would go quietly into the night? Heck no! Just three weeks ago, he took to the stage at Birmingham's Villa Park Stadium for a surprise reunion show with his Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward. The crowd went wild as they performed their final-ever show together.

As Ozzy looked out over the sea of adoring fans, it seemed like the whole universe was singing in harmony. He even got emotional at one point, overwhelmed by the love and support he'd received throughout his 50-year career in music. "Thank you from the bottom of my heart," he gushed after finishing a rendition of "Suicide Solution."

His family said the star died 'surrounded by love' and asked for privacy (Ozzy Osbourne and his wife Sharon and their children Aimee, Kelly and Jack 1987)

And then, as if on cue, fireworks lit up the sky, and we knew it was time to say goodbye to our beloved Ozzy.

So here's to the Prince of Darkness - may his eternal reign in rock 'n' roll heaven be filled with loud guitars, pounding drums, and a never-ending supply of bat wings. Rest in peace, Ozzy Osbourne.
