Olivia Rodrigo and Ed Sheeran's Surprise Duets Leave Fans in Awe!
The music world was left stunned when pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo, 22, brought out none other than superstar Ed Sheeran, 34, on stage at London's Hyde Park for a surprise duet that sent the crowd of 65,000 fans into a frenzy!
But that wasn't all - just weeks prior, Rodrigo had another secret weapon up her sleeve. At the 2025 Governors Ball Music Festival in Queens, NY, she busted out none other than David Byrne, 73, from iconic rock band Talking Heads to perform an epic rendition of their hit single "Burning Down the House"!
Byrne, donning his signature red overalls and white T-shirt, rocked out with Rodrigo in a performance that had fans on the edge of their seats. The two even busted out some sick dance moves that had everyone singing along.
But not everyone was thrilled about the unexpected collaboration. Some fans were left scratching their heads, wondering who David Byrne was (um, he's a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, duh!) and what he was doing sharing the stage with Rodrigo.
One commenter quipped, "What I imagine dancing in my underwear with my dad would be like..." Ouch! Another fan joked, "Bet many of her fans said who's that old man she invited on stage..."
But not everyone was hatin' - many fans praised Rodrigo for introducing them to new music and new artists. As one commenter put it, "Can’t hate on someone trying to open up a whole new generation’s ears to some great music..."
And let's be real, who wouldn't want to learn more about the iconic band Talking Heads? The 1984 concert film Stop Making Sense is a must-watch for any music lover, and now that it's been re-released in 2023 on various streaming services, there's no excuse not to get familiar with Byrne and co.
But back to Rodrigo and her surprise guests - we can't help but wonder what other secret collaborations she has up her sleeve. After all, the pop star has already collaborated with legends like Sheryl Crow, Alanis Morissette, Jewel, Natalie Imbruglia, and Avril Lavigne. Who's next?!
