Olivia Munn Spills the Tea on Toxic Director and Aaron Rodgers Drama: "I Fought Back So Much"

In a shocking revelation, actress Olivia Munn has opened up about her traumatic experience working with a demanding director on HBO's The Newsroom, which left her feeling belittled and targeted. In an explosive interview with Dax Shepard on his popular podcast Armchair Expert, the 44-year-old star revealed that the unnamed director tried to manipulate her character, Sloan Sabbith, into having a romantic relationship with co-star Tom Sadoski's Don Keefer.

The drama began when the director insisted that Munn's character and Sadoski's character should be dating, despite it not being part of the original script. Munn recalled feeling frustrated as the director kept pushing her to "look out at him and smile," and even suggested she snuggle up to him or flirt with him. She refused, saying, "Why is she busy doing this?" The actress also revealed that in another scene, where her character discovers Keefer's insider trading, the director thought it was funny and told Munn to lighten up.

The 44-year-old actress was first best known as a correspondent on the popular G4 series Attack of the Show, before breaking through as an actress as Sloan Sabbith on The Newsroom

Things took a dark turn when the director allegedly tried to sabotage Munn's future career by speaking negatively about her. Munn shared that she was on the verge of landing a major movie role when her manager called her with the news: "Hey, you're gonna get the role. But first, I guess there's another director who they know and he says that on The Newsroom you were late all the time and really combative." Munn laughed, knowing it was a lie, saying, "I lived seven minutes from there. I was never late. I was like, 'I know who this is.' He just was trying to bash me."

The actress walked away from the experience with a lasting impression: "And then I still got the role. But I will always remember that just because of our conflicts over how we approached a role, he wanted to ruin my chances of getting anything else." Munn's powerful story serves as a reminder of the toxic behavior that can occur in the entertainment industry.

In addition to sharing her The Newsroom experience, Munn also opened up about her past romance with NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers. She revealed that she didn't watch the recent Netflix documentary about him and addressed rumors that she started the rift between him and his family. According to Munn, there was a "dynamic in the family" that had nothing to do with her, but people continued to speculate for years.

"I know, but I'm not saying because it's not my story to tell," Munn said, leaving fans wondering what really went down. TheScholarlyNote.com has obtained an exclusive excerpt from the podcast, where Munn shares more about her experiences and offers words of wisdom: "You have to stand up for yourself...I think that's one of the most important things in life."
