"It all started because of a hit piece [that] The New York Times wrote about me," Dunne revealed. "They came to our gymnastics facility at LSU, took pictures of me. They said, 'wear your team-issued attire, put on a leotard,' and they took a picture of me standing in front of the beam like any gymnast would, and then they blew it up on the screen and put the headline, 'Sex Sells'."
Talk about a tabloid moment! Dunne wasn't having it, though. She decided to take matters into her own hands by posting that same pic on her Instagram story with a cheeky caption: "@The New York Times, is this too much?" The world (and her fans) loved it!
Fast-forward to May 2025, when Dunne, now a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model in her own right, was named one of the four cover stars for SI Swimsuit's 2025 edition - a dream come true! In five incredible years at LSU, she became the most-followed and highest-paid female college athlete with over 13 million combined TikTok and Instagram followers and an impressive NIL valuation of $4.1 million.
