EXCLUSIVE: Nikki Bella Recalls Her Awkward Run-In with Ex-Fiance John Cena at WWE Event

Get ready for a dose of drama and a whole lot of shade! Nikki Bella, 41, spilled all about her recent run-in with ex-fiance John Cena at the 2025 Royal Rumble event in early February. The former couple, who were engaged from 2017 to 2018, had a brief but awkward encounter that left everyone talking.

According to Nikki, who appeared on Kristin Cavallari's podcast "Honestly Cavallari," she and her twin sister Brie were guests on the show back in March. During the conversation, Nikki revealed that she and John, 48, hadn't seen each other in person for seven or eight years after their engagement was called off.

The former couple had crossed paths at 2025 Royal Rumble in early February 'seven [or] eight years' after they had last seen each other; seen in 2018 in L.A.

"It was very quick," Nikki said, describing the encounter. "He came to shake everyone's hand, including mine." When host Kristin asked if they hugged, Nikki matter-of-factly replied, "No, just a handshake."

But that wasn't all - John and Nikki had some history to work through. As it turns out, they had been dating since 2012, but their relationship was far from perfect. In fact, sources revealed that John had made Nikki sign a whopping 75-page contract before moving in together, which included bizarre demands like being a "guest" in his home and following the same morning and evening routine.

And if all that wasn't enough, John proposed to Nikki during WrestleMania 33 in 2017, asking her in front of thousands of screaming fans. But just a year later, they called off their engagement, citing a desire to focus on themselves.

When asked about their brief reunion at the WWE event, Nikki explained that she had been respectful and kept the interaction casual. "He's married now," she said with a hint of awkwardness. "We exchanged pleasantries, but it was very brief."

But what really got everyone's attention was when Kristin teased, "Everyone wants you guys to be together." To which Nikki quickly shot back, "Oh, gosh. Next question!"

The drama doesn't stop there, folks! As we all know, Nikki has been through a whirlwind of relationships since her split with John. She welcomed her adorable son Matteo with ex-husband Artem Chigvintsev in 2020, but their marriage ended in a messy divorce just two years later.

'It was very quick,' Garcia expressed, adding that it had been so out of 'respect' since the fellow pro wrestler, 48, is a 'married man' now. Cena tied the knot with Shay Shariatzadeh in 2020; seen in 2017 in Orlando

In May, Nikki broke her silence on the brutal split and the whopping $200k spousal support payment she was ordered to pay Artem. "Our settlement is what everyone saw," she explained. "Yes, I had to give him $200,000. Spousal support, alimony." When asked if it was a lot, Nikki replied with conviction, "It's a steal."

But despite the drama and financial woes, Nikki seems to be doing just fine. She gushed about her co-parenting relationship with Artem, saying, "We are co-parenting so amazing... and it makes Matteo's life so amazing, and I don't want it any other way." And let's not forget - she's now single and ready to take on the world!

So there you have it, folks! Nikki Bella and John Cena may be apart, but their drama-filled past is still making headlines. Stay tuned for more updates from TheScholarlyNote.com!
