New Dawn for James Bond: Patrick Gibson in the Spotlight?

Daniel Craig (seen here in Skyfall) bowed out of the James Bond series in explosive fashion four years ago

EXCLUSIVE: The World's Most Wanted Spy is Back, But Not in the Way You Think!

Four years on from Daniel Craig's explosive exit as James Bond, a new actor is set to take on the iconic role - and we've got the scoop! Amazon MGM Studios has just dropped a bombshell trailer for 007: First Light, an officially endorsed prequel that will see a younger version of Bond like you've never seen before.

But here's the twist: this isn't your average, run-of-the-mill Bond movie. Nope! This one's coming to your living room in the form of a brand-new videogame, courtesy of IO Interactive - the geniuses behind the Hitman series!

Fans of Patrick Gibson (pictured in Dexter: Original Sin) are convinced that he has been cast as the latest James Bond in the 007 franchise

The trailer is an action-packed thrill ride that will leave you breathless. We're talking high-octane car chases, explosive gunfights, and brutal hand-to-hand combat that would put even Daniel Craig's Bond to shame! And let's not forget the gadgets - oh, the glorious gadgets! From Omega watches with built-in flamethrowers (yes, really!) to Aston Martins that would make Q proud, this game has got it all!

But what about our new Bond? Well, sources close to the production have revealed that the Irish actor Patrick Gibson is the front-runner for the role. Gibson, known for his breakout performance in prequel series Dexter: Original Sin, looks like a dead ringer for Bond - and fans are already going wild on social media!

"I knew it was him as soon as I saw the trailer!" exclaimed one fan on Reddit. "The smirk gave it away!"

But all is not quite as it seems in the world of international espionage - as this Bond is not destined for the silver screen

While we can't confirm Gibson's involvement just yet ( MailOnline has reached out to his agent, but no word back...), insiders tell us that he's been in talks with Amazon MGM Studios for months.

But what about the big-screen Bond? Will Patrick Gibson be our new 007? Or will someone else take on the role? We've got a few whispers on the grapevine...

Aaron Taylor-Johnson, fresh from his Marvel movies stint, is rumored to be in the running - but nothing's been officially confirmed. Industry insiders say he's got a good shot at getting the nod, but it's not a done deal just yet.

This is the new James Bond - appearing in video game 007: First Light as a young, roguish 26-year-old Royal Navy air crewman entering the world of spycraft

As for Amazon MGM Studios' plans for the franchise, they're being tight-lipped about their next move. But one thing's for sure: with this videogame, we're going to get a fresh take on Bond like never before!

So, what can fans expect from 007: First Light? Well, here are just a few juicy details:

  • The game will follow Bond as he begins his journey as a Royal Navy air crewman, recruited by MI6
  • Expect plenty of nods to the classic Bond movies - including Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies!
  • IO Interactive has promised that this game will be "true to the 007 spirit" (whatever that means!)
  • Get ready for some serious British brand-name-dropping - from Land Rovers to Triumph motorbikes, it's all here!

The game looks set to feature an all-star cast, including Walking Dead star Lennie James as John Greenaway, a mentor figure for Bond

When can you get your hands on 007: First Light? Mark your calendars for 2026 - when this thrilling new game drops on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.

The world of espionage just got a whole lot more interesting...

The full cast is yet to be announced - but appears to feature an Asian woman in the role of M, most recently played in the films by Ralph Fiennes

While not named, this young woman appears to be a new iteration of Bond's long-suffering companion Moneypenny
